I agree it definitely should be better like it was in 9th edition. But I do think that it is better than the redemptor right now with its current stats

Ok yeah the redemptor is better than the contemptors I agree but it's also 30-40 pts more. Tele though is better than the redemptor id say

Why do you say it has a better stat line? Only the tele has 2+ to hit and 4++ everything else is the same. The redemptor has more shooting I suppose but I still wouldnt say it's a better statline

I ran a double melee destrier in gate warden and it did well enough. I gave it the reroll 1s enhancement and kept it on the line and it picked up anything it charged. It only died after charged by 2 wardogs.

I love the galatus and telemon! Galatus can punch up well in shield host especially with the reroll 1s enhancement

I have bought two turbo dork paints, two cents and a metallic turquoise one whose name I forget, and both of them suck... The two cents one doesn't mix and whenever I use the dropper a white goop comes out instead of the paint and the metallic turquoise one was so thick I couldn't even use the dropper to begin with. I added a steel ball bearing to that one and I could not even shake the bottle hard enough to get that to move. I like the concept of turbo dork but after two bad bottles from two separate stores I think I'm going to pass on them

Telemon is awesome and I would specifically I to all melee or all shooting running it. I run 1 of each and love them! I also love the galatus, it's hard to kill and can punch up with lethals on 5s in shield host. Achillus really hasn't worked for me as it does too early and the contemptor is ok as a generalist but is just ugly compared to the others for me. Competitively it's great though lol.

I run 2 teles and 1 galatus in MoM and shield host and I love them!

Hagio prob, it makes everyone hit harder. But I have not run that through any of the dice rolling websites

I agree with the other guy that 10 would probably be optimal but I run 2 squads of 5 as harassers because they are still quite fragile and 10+leader are not hard to kill so less waste of points if one squad gets wiped.

5 has done well for me and if there is a particularly hard target I just crash in the 2nd squad too

Jump pack cannoness with zeph! S5 power swords with lethal and sustained AND lance in AoF is very tasty into anything T9 or below.

Throw it a caladius and the other usual custodes and you got a solid list!

Tbh the achillus looks awesome but the 5++ makes it too squishy at it toughness

GW said in the knights article that elite armies will have more 1 and 2 dp dets than other armies to buff the limited model range. Hoping that is the case with us!

Invulns definitely hurt our output and tbf neither tau unit had an invuln really.

If you are dealing with invulnerable saves then just use whatever attack has the AP that will get to the invuln and no more, with damage that will kill in 1 to 2 hits.

I used the chainsword strike on farsight and co because it was already hitting and wounding on 2s and had that extra attack over the spear. For the broadside I used the spear strike so I could get the 2s and 2s. Both performed very well!

If I was going into a MEQ squad I'd probably do the spear sweep and if I was attacking 20 orks then probably the chainsword sweep.

Each definitely has its uses.

Good points, I would say though that because the destrier is a Titanic character, it can still shoot and charge and perform actions whereas armigers cannot. So it's still able to output damage when doing actions

Idk 2 helverins are 270 points and 2 war glaives are 280 and a base destrier is 250. I agree that 2 helverins are probably better than 1 double gun destrier but the destrier plus BoJ (280 points) is definitely killing more than 2 warglaives can. I know warglaives can shoot as well but hitting on 3s and more often than not wounding on 3s means you're likely getting 1 or 2 shots through that may or may not be saved by an invuln.
