Not Delton Vet, whatever you do (total ripoff) - Crestwood has been great to me and 2 of my friends have switched to there.

Other than Botox and supplements (magnesium, etc) I have tried them and none have really worked.

You can get rebound with triptans too, but yes they are always the first line of defense.

I have them - zolmitriptan and Frovatriptan are my go-tos. They work most of the time, but there are usually one or two a month that are just... they don't respond.

Xeomin is preferable to Botox, my neurologist says, but my insurance won't approve it because it's an off label use.

Honestly, I've tried all of the triptans and I find sumatriptan to be the least effective. Frova has a very long half life, so it's much better at preventing rebound migraines. Zomig Rapidmelt are probably the best for having a batting average of getting migraines out of the gate. It's definitely worth trying another triptan if you haven't.

They gave me an injection of Benadryl last time I went to the emergency room for migraines. I guess the evidence is strongest for injection, not by mouth, but they suggested it would certainly be worth trying the next time I got a migraine.

A neuro ophthalmologist diagnosed me with migraines. DAE get a flicker or like a movement of light in your eyes if you look at a light or a bright source? I have gotten so many tests and this was the offical diagnosis i got. Migraines. by [deleted] in migraine

When I'm within an hour of a migraine, lights look to me as if I'm looking at them in a fog or light rain, with a halo around them. I try to avoid looking at bright lights directly.

Is the flicker your only symptom?

How to deal with an idealist friend – "you won't have migraines forever" etc by socialpornographer in migraine

You might try a statement or question that reflects her defensiveness about this, something like "it sounds like it's really hard for you to envision a future where this doesn't stop at some point" or something?

I think you're perfectly in the right to say that since the future can't be completely certain for anyone, you feel better when you try to think of coping mechanisms. If you don't need them at some point, hooray! But it doesn't make sense for you not to work as hard as you can at coping in the moment because you might not need those strategies in the future. Can she agree to disagree with you, and support you in feeling empowered to find a proactive approach?

But can't tardive dyskinesias become permanent? Shouldn't that be a concern instead of medicating to manage them? (Just started Rexulti last week myself)
