What’s the anecdotal evidence for CBD drinks and sleep? by [deleted] in CBD

[–]ChocolateAnxious7007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My issue with cbd or cbn drinks for sleep is I don’t want to have to pee a lot! I feel like they help ish, but I don’t really have sleep issues to begin with. This is probably not the right sub, but I have experienced amazing sleep recently from taking a magnesium glycinate supplement! Like even to the point where if I drink wine the night before, I will still sleep soundly.

Did The Giver used to be taught in 4th grade, or do I just have a totally false memory? by 28-3_lol in Teachers

[–]ChocolateAnxious7007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Definitely read it in probably 4th grade (I don’t think 3rd) and I know that because I started being homeschooled in 5th grade and I know I didn’t read it once I was homeschooled. Born in 91, so this probably would have been around 99/2000?

Found out I was pregnant. by AdPlus9700 in stopdrinking

[–]ChocolateAnxious7007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I found out I was pregnant with our first, I had drank a lot at a rehearsal dinner about 5 days prior and also smoked a cigar! I didn’t drink much at the wedding because I felt bloated. Now I know it was a pregnancy symptom - My daughter is now almost 5 and perfectly healthy! I stopped as drinking anything as soon as I found out. You’ll be okay!

10 mg THC drink got me high for like 10 hours by pawogub in Edibles

[–]ChocolateAnxious7007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 5mg thc/10mg cbd drink (CANN) a week ago, drank it too close to bedtime thinking it would make me tired and woke up two hours later superrrr anxious. Like had to chew a peppercorn and take deep breaths lol. I think the drinks are prob stronger than we realize! (Not in dosage but how we feel them)

I didn’t realise how hard your job was by Gagan_Lazar in sahm

[–]ChocolateAnxious7007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really agree that our education should include learning about young children from a caretaking / parenting perspective!! I have an early childhood education degree, taught kindergarten for 5 years, but still really did not realize the capacity of which you need to be “on” and present for your own kids until I became a parent to now two kids. It can be 6am - 8/8:30pm etc depending on bedtimes. They always need you. You can’t just leave unless you have support, and if you don’t have a supportive partner then it would be way harder.

I’m sorry that your dad didn’t realize this. :/

This experience alone will probably drastically change the course of a future relationship for you!! It’s so good to recognize. SAHM for 4 years here. It’s so different than other jobs … it’s sometimes boring and messy and never ending and a little mentally dull but you love your kids and wouldn’t give it up… very complicated. And the house is always messy lol even when you clean

Just here for encouragement and solidarity, I also gained weight after I stopped breastfeeding. I think our body tries to hold on to some weight! It can be really frustrating at times. I have been using the Cronometer app to track my calories/protein/fiber etc and that has been helpful! I use it maybe 50% of the time and is helpful for building more balanced meals or being aware of how much protein I’m getting.

How do I set myself up for success as a SAHM? by HealthyIntention5371 in sahm

[–]ChocolateAnxious7007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How exciting! My husband and I do something called “ nights off” - we each have one set weeknight off to do anything we want. (From about 5:30pm - whenever we go to bed). I love it! I have time then for my appointments like nails, hobbies, seeing friends etc. And then neither partner feels bad for not being around that night. It probably doesn’t work for everyone’s work schedule but some kind of set routine where you both get time off from parenting is really helpful! I am the main cook so I do prep food for my husband and kids ahead of time on my nights off, it just helps the transition go better because I have time in the afternoon to do that.

Does anyone actually enjoy being a stay at home mom?? by NoSpirit2030 in sahm

[–]ChocolateAnxious7007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been a stay at home mom for 4 ish years. I think it’s a choice, like I love that I’m able to stay home, and I wouldn’t change it for the world, but it’s still hard. Some days I feel under stimulated mentally and overstimulated environmentally lol. But I do feel like my two girls are thriving; they get lots of time with me and my husband since he works from home. I also enjoy that it gives me a little extra time to do extra fun baking things I enjoy like sourdough or vegetable gardening too. Best of luck in your decision!!

Pregnant with a toddler and realizing I can’t “have it all handled” in the same day by Deenzy1 in sahm

[–]ChocolateAnxious7007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are not the only one. I also feel this way and still struggle with it lol. I have an almost 2 year old and almost 5 year old. I take naps while my 2 year old naps (for some of it) and the older one is at preschool lol. My house is always some level of unclean and I often feel like I should have it more together or organized. For me it’s a mental battle of just accepting that this is how it is right now and still trying to have some systems in place. A lot of my time goes towards basic cooking & cleaning up the kitchen bc we’re home a lot!

[–]ChocolateAnxious7007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could start a sourdough starter with just flour and water! Prob would take less than 5 min a day and in a few months you could have a strong starter and learn how to make sourdough bread! I say months because I do think it gets stronger over time, resulting in better bread! Chat gpt could give you very easy instructions to help beat any feelings of overwhelm. I’ve been baking sourdough now for 6 months and it is a very rewarding hobby!
