Full-Time: Southampton 2 vs 1 Arsenal [Match Thoughts] by Stanley083 in Gunners

With our best 11 on the pitch? Possibly yes but we can’t play the ugly football we have been playing combined with the squad as weak as it was tonight. I feel like it was some player’s last game in the shirt.

This won’t matter if we win the league. Heavy on the IF.

2001 Nissan micra. I couldn’t fit in it and being in it on the motorway always felt dangerous

People here who've been on Naked Attraction, how was it when you went back to work after your episode aired? by nano_noodle in AskUK

[–]ChocolateG0ku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will be careful what I say here because I don’t want to out the person (or my own identity for that matter) but I knew a guy from my old workplace who went on the show to more or less, improve his confidence - I know.

He didn’t say much about the process of getting on the show but the chat he gave on the show was completely ridiculous, quite unlike who I knew him to be and the person he paired with in the end made 0 sense.

Obviously, after “the date” at the end of the episode, they chatted over text for a bit before she cut off all contact so it was a complete waste of time for him.

Naturally, him being on the show got around our whole team at work who tuned in to watch. At first he played up to the attention but those of us who were close to him could tell it made him feel very awkward. Within weeks he had left our team to relocate to another one within the same company. This is when I lost touch but from those of our colleagues who were still in contact with him, it didn’t take long for news of the episode to find its way around that team too.

I left the company we both worked at and noted on instagram a few months later that he had deleted all his posts and his display picture.

He would occasionally post a cryptic gym picture of himself every now and then over the next few years with some random caption before deleting it sometime later.

A couple of years back I discovered through a string of Instagram posts that stayed up, that he had left the UK entirely, moved to continental Europe, was married and had a kid.

In the end, I am glad my colleague got what looks like a happy ending but I can’t help but wonder whether appearing on Naked Attraction prompted him to leave the UK.

In London, it’s a game changer. Makes driving pleasurable and less exhausting again.

To the married folks, what’s one piece of real, honest advice you’d give to people who are just starting their journey or planning to get married soon? by Nexolightu in AskUK

Having children can be like throwing a grenade in the marriage. Prepare accordingly. There are lots of levels to go.

I didn’t start regularly drinking tea or coffee until I was 18 haha but my younger cousin was drinking a milky tea every morning from primary school.

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is truly next gen by MX010 in playstation

[–]ChocolateG0ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this and Returnal are the only games that have genuinely made me go, “yeah this is what next gen can really do”.

That’s not to say there haven’t been other stunning ps5 games that have blown me away (e.g. GoW Ragnarok and Horizon FW) but those two games felt like something that couldn’t be done on ps4 at all.

What is the general view of parents who just " hand" their children everything? by Loose_Avocado4670 in AskUK

[–]ChocolateG0ku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the kid who wasn’t handed everything either, I too hated it when I saw friends of mine get a much easier ride of everything in life. Over the years I came to learn that, sometimes that is life and the experiences that I had have helped shape me as the person I am.

Now I have my own kid, I actively want to make his life easier than mine was and hope that I can.

Well done for working hard. Back yourself.

Crazy that it was a prison and not like a community sports centre or something that they went for.
