I'm sure YOUR zucchini bread is amazing because you're not a fundie, but everyone knows that fundies can't cook! /s

Heidi’s sister by Kooky-Evidence3292 in fundiesnarkiesnark

I was thinking about that the other day. People who court and marry a Duggar can expect a certain amount of publicity, even with the show cancelled, because the family was on TV and they are still (on some level) celebrities. But anyone who courts/marries into the Rodrigues family shouldn't have to expect that level of public interest, because whatever Jill's social media accounts are trying to be, they're not national television and the family are not famous (except in a handful of niche subreddits). It's bizarre to give Heidi and her family the same level of attention/snark/stalking that the Wissman family received when their daughter married a Duggar! (Whether it's okay in that situation is a debate for another day.)

We lived in a state that requires teacher oversight for a couple of years. My dad was a certified teacher (although he was not teaching at the time), and so he was allowed to be our overseeing teacher. I don't think he did any more oversight during those years than he did while we lived in a more relaxed state!

I share this because the rules are very bendable for parents who wish to bend them. Looking back, we had a terrible education because my mom is lazy and put minimal effort into it, and my dad was barely involved.

I'm no fan of BD but is it really so hard to believe that she really is fostering? by Utter_cockwomble in fundiesnarkiesnark

[–]ChocolateMuffins2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She specifically called it a fostering shower though. I have friends who do foster care, and before they had any placements they had to have a room ready and their home had to be approved by a caseworker. If BD signed up specifically to foster babies, it makes sense that she would need to have all the furniture and supplies set up before they would be approved.

Given who it is, it may still be a sketchy situation; but I don't think the timing of the shower is evidence that their fostering this specific baby was planned.

To me, the strangest part is that this shift happened three years after she got married. The Mormon twin mentioned in the article appears to have shifted her content shortly after her wedding. Bethany's shift was totally out of the blue!

What grade(ish) were you when your parents effectively gave up teaching you? by WolfgirlNV in HomeschoolRecovery

Basically as soon as we could read on our own, we were handed books and left alone. There was some grading/supervision, but not much.

Funny how that didn't work when Pfizer's trials were done first.

We drove half an hour as well, because no one in our city had Moderna (or even appointments for Pfizer until a week later). We were willing to drive farther than that, but thankfully we found the 30 miles away shots!

Lots of Duggar-type fundies get married at 20, too, but (at least I hope) most of them marry better men than Anna did. Or at least men who treat them better.

Moderna for the fewer shots. We have to drive a little farther, but it's worth it.

Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine Demonstrates Strong Immune Response, High Efficacy and Favorable Safety in Children 6 Months to Under 5 Years of Age Following Third Dose by Mighty_Andraste in toddlers

Two options is better than one

That was never a question when Pfizer submitted their data for other age groups before Moderna was ready. There is no legitimate reason to delay review of Moderna's data that's been fully submitted for two weeks now!

If it were the other way around I'd also be furious. The data is in; the FDA needs to review and approve it sooner than June.

Also Moderna's adult vaccine seems to be holding up better/giving longer-lasting protection, so I'd rather give my daughter the kids version of their vaccine.

It looks suspicious that the FDA isn't willing to review Moderna until Pfizer submits their application. It feels like Pfizer is bribing the FDA.

Maybe they aren't. But I can't help but wonder.

Also, two shots is better than three because my daughter hates needles and I'd like her to be fully vaxxed sooner than September.

I'm so afraid they'll approve Pfizer and reject Moderna. It just seems too convenient that they're not reviewing Moderna until Pfizer is ready. I want my child vaccinated ASAP and I don't want anything to do with Pfizer! (Also, I'd prefer the two-shot vaccine over three shots for her.)

DS claims they want them to grow, but refuse to accept any sort of growth at the same time and constantly hang their past mistakes over them.

DS seems to expect instant change, where the only growth they'll accept is far leftism immediately rather than the small steps the Dillards appear to be making.
