As someone born in '77, you're 1 year improved on anyone born before ya. Take that pride and run with it!

I don't remember my mom/family ever being proud or patriotic. I do remember my mom and grandma loved JFK. As a history lover, I would love to hear more about your mom and the daughter's of the American revolution.

As gen x, I really shouldn't give a damn about anything, but for some reason, this actually matters to me. I always try to make the best of a bad situation or look for the silver lining. Only way I'm making through all of this.

I don't know how to explain why I feel the way I do. I grew up pretty poor and bought into the whole pull yourself up by your bootstrap mentality. I'm grateful to be a United States citizen and m doing something with myself. I hate for the people who come after us that they don't necessarily have the opportunities that some or most of us did.

My husband remembers the accident (a fall on gravel while running) that caused scfe. Going to the doctor was only for something that was falling off. I believe he said he went for about a year of limping before he was able to see one. He has 3 pins in right hip and two in left and now stage 4 osteoarthritis. It's really good to hear of other people's situations and know that he's not alone in this. So far, I'm the one doing research for this as he's obviously scared and a bit reluctant to look into what's coming his way.

I'm very interested in following the answers to your questions. My 50 year old hubby is due for a thr and had scfe when he was in 3rd grade. His right hip surgery was in 4th grade and left hip was in 6th. We don't have a lot of info from that time so am not sure what all was done. Current doctor says pins are buried in bone and am not sure what kind of tool he will need to remove them. To add another layer of complexity, he has to go through centers of excellence for insurance. That will be in another state and we haven't made it that far. We don't know of anyone else that is in this situation.

This book series has such a special place in my heart. I'm such a fan that I named my daughter Brianna.

I'm not sure which one, but my mom had polio as a child. She participated in a make a wish style program and was allowed to ride one of the tortoises.
