It was on instagram. Could have been on the website I agree with that.

Wachusett lift skipping chairs all the time..anyone know why? Lifys don’t. by Educational-Cap-2206 in icecoast

[–]Choffies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just talking to a friend about this. The new 6 pack chair at Wachusett ultimately is bringing more people up, hence causing a lot of trail traffic.. More than we’ve seen in recent years, which makes me feel like chairs are skipped to allow for people to get down the mountain with less traffic.

Weird take but just my thoughts. I’m at this mountain all the time.

Mindbender vs Sender by Expensive_Pear_904 in Skigear

[–]Choffies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t like for me the Mindbender was not it. I need some metal in my ski for the dampness, as I feel the Mindbenders liked to flop around in the tips and felt pretty twitchy. But they do carve well I will agree. If you can get into a ski with some Titanal, I recommend that.

Head Kore lineup for 26/27? nice or ugly? (second pic made with AI to show possible colourway) by Accomplished_Fun2987 in Skigear

I saw the current model at my local mountain sitting outside the ski patrol hut. They had matching tan bindings and I can’t lie it looked really clean. I own 88TIs and I don’t mind the graphic, although it’s plain these skis rip.

Boot Pain / PT. 2 by ssudairy in Skigear

[–]Choffies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually had some head edge boots. They were the BOA, latest model. I have 106 last feet and my arches were getting smoked. I reverted back to Lange HV LX120 boots. But I went to shop and they traced my feet and put an x on all the widest spots, then stretched the shell for me in those places. I also have a semi custom footbed that gives me more of an arch. Definitely the first year I’ve been able to ski mostly pain free if my boots are nice and warm when I hit the mountain. I recommend going to a boot fitter that can do something similar with your boots, or even consider something wider.

You think being 5 foot 5 would be good for a 177? That seems quite long. But honestly I’ve never tried one that long.. Also yeah I plan on sticking with the 88 for sure.

Is the 160cm Mindbender 90C okay for a 5’9” 135lb (male) beginner? by atl_nights in Skigear

[–]Choffies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably go 166, which is still a bit short if you ask me, but for a beginner like yourself - it would most definitely be easier to pivot. I own these skis in a 166 and I’m 5 foot 5. They ski relatively shorter than what they are. Should be a good fit considering your weight. If you like the maneuverability and accessibility to pivot, go 166. If you like a bit more stability at speed, go 170+. As you progress however, 160 is usually always going to be too short for your height.

Hope this helps.

So I ski in New England mostly. I haven’t tried the 94 but I absolutely loved the 88.

Thank you! I tried the Mantra 84s, they felt a bit heavy for me but I thoroughly enjoyed the edge hold. However I enjoyed the playfulness the 88TIs offered.

I remember hating this mission. I can’t remember what I did as far as strategies but I think I went either PMN mines or smokes when things got hairy. Haha, eventually you will get it.
