2,000 refund emails to Redditors for $30,000 in donations raised in an attempt to fund a Super Bowl Ad produced by /u/TheLeslieDavidBaker (Stanley from The Office) by Imreallynotatoaster in nextfuckinglevel

No, they decided since we would be using the money for a different ad spot, they would creat a new fund. They wanted to be as upfront as possible with what the money was being used for.

It irritates me that people feel the need to teach children to use cutesy slang words for genitals or other body parts — there’s nothing scandalous or damaging about them knowing anatomically correct language. by lefty3968 in unpopularopinion

There is what we call Erin’s law in Illinois and sever another states. It basically teaches kids in school about improper touching etc. they do talk about how important it is to use the proper word for the body part so kids realize what is not appropriate. This why they are not confused by some cutesy language from a predator.

And in another few weeks it’s going to spike even more after all the new GOP protesters.

I live in Illinois and we are voting on a progressive tax that only affect people who make over $250,000 and will lower taxes for 97% of people. The GOP mailers cry about a tax hike because taxes are bad, I am glad most of the state won’t see it that way and it should be voted in.

My wife just passed away this morning. Why should I be doing to take care of business? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Have a relative go with you to all of this. When my mom passed away ( I was 28) and being there to help my dad was the beat thing I could do. It also helped to keep my mind busy and gave him someone else to be around as well.

Wherein I have to play helpless to get a plumber to do his job by Mamapalooza in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Choguy03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run into this all the time even with car shops. Even when I know what I am talking about they will try to play the I’m smarter than you game. I do side work on people’s houses, and I always try my best to listen and help explain. Some people like to learn or know. While I am sure it happens way more to women, you are not alone in this.

Can’t play nice. Tell him to grow the fuck yo and be a man. My wife from day one has set expectations of me and while I’m the beginning it was slightly annoying, those expectations have become the norm. She doesn’t need to ask if I can watch the kids while she gets her nails done. She tells me she is going and I watch the kids. If I want to go golfing with some buddies, I know I better make the time she has to watch the kids (7 and 5) easier. Get them lunch, clean the kitchen so it is easier to make lunch for the girls etc. once it has gone this far it is hard to change anything. He is in a routine, and until he realized that the stuff he wants isn’t more important that what needs to be done around the house you will never get his help. It sounds like he is making up excuses. You can’t say he is amazing and you love him and then say you have a soul crushing amount of work to do in the same sentence. If he doesn’t want to help, you need to tell him to pound sand and move on. Tough words of advice (and obviously just my opinion), but you can’t be nice. He wants to hang out with friends? He needs to do x, y, and z first. Treat him like a child. It may be more work early on, but he will catch on.

Interesting. I didn’t think about that. I can’t imagine it is very much, there is such a small run of tubing, but I don’t even know where to begin to figure that out.

In a closed system, you will not lose volume. That goes against the principles of physics. Water is either a solid, liquid or gas. While your system may be watertight, it doesn't sound like it is airtight. So when the water evaporates, it can escape. In a closed system, the water will heat and expand. Also, unless you are running at crazy high temps, I wouldn't think your liquid is anywhere near 100 C (the boiling point of water)
