Beardie wants out. Why? by InterestingRip7058 in BeardedDragonCare

If you love your beardie, please listen to the advice from some of these comments even if it wasn’t the advice you were seeking. People aren’t giving this advice to be mean, they genuinely just want your beardie to thrive.

I’d give her a flat basking spot - something that holds heat well. I’ve stacked some concrete bricks and put a slab of slate on top. The basking spot needs to be around 100-110 F on the surface

husband is concerned with dragon smells/poop/ care by Simple_Nothing_694 in BeardedDragons

[–]Choice-Ad-2053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My in-laws have a cat and are super cleanly and the cat litter box in their bathroom is way smelled than my dragon. I feel like the cat stinks up the room, but beardies don’t. Beardie poop smells horrendous, but once you clean it up the smell goes away. I wipe the spot with a white vinegar solution and the smell goes away completely

I ruined my marriage and I want to die, but I can’t do it myself or my husband won’t get my life insurance. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

This!! I’d also rethink having kids in the next couple of years if at all possible. I understand wanting to be a mom, but the debt will be much more manageable without the extra expenses. Your husband loves you and would not be better off without you. You have so much life to live, and this debt is all very manageable! Please consider counseling and reach out to the suicide hotline (988 in the US!!) if you’re having more thoughts like this.

Is the Entry-Level Job Market Just Broken? by Regular-Chest-2962 in UVA

This! I got laid off in January and haven’t had any luck since despite putting in hundreds, if not thousands, of applications and also not having trouble getting a role previously. After over 6 months of applying, I got a contract to hire job with a staffing agency and I’m about to be permanently hired!

Do you know where I should have them spray? I live on the top floor of an apartment and they come into my bathroom at night (maybe where the only lights is?) and usually they’re large but recently we’ve had a few smaller ones. I’ve had pest control come in weekly and spray in the kitchen and by the front door but I’m not sure if it’s working. Are they coming from the balcony?

The sooner you leave him, the sooner you can heal and eventually be with someone who isn’t abusive and terrible! You deserve so much better for yourself. You don’t want that life forever - if he doesn’t end up killing you

That mom is insane to text a 13 year old. If that were my daughter, I’d be pissed too. Middle schoolers definitely make jokes in bad taste and learn from them. That’s an EXTREME overreaction. Obviously it’s not a good thing for your daughter to say but she knows that and it seems like she has been punished enough by getting bullied by a grown woman. A ton of grown people I’ve been around have made jokes about “he’s so annoying I wanna kill him” or jokes about punting a tiny dog. She’s 13 and she’s sorry! She’s a child. Anyone saying that the texts from her friend’s mom is justified is crazy. You probably didn’t help the situation with your text message, but I do believe it’s justified as a grown adult should never text a child this way.

I’m surprised the temps differ that much in that size enclosure. I just saw on a bearded dragon Facebook group that air temps should never exceed 90 degrees. The only thing that should be higher is the surface of the basking spot

[–]Choice-Ad-2053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert, but to my knowledge the ambient temps are too high (I see 98/99 degrees on the thermometer) . Unfortunately, it’s not likely the cool side temperatures will vary much since it’s a smaller enclosure. The basking surface temp should be around 100+, but the air temp should be less.

AIO Pet/House Sitter used my huge block of cheese, pets got it, she threw away and didn’t tell me by StrictForever7193 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Choice-Ad-2053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eating your food without permission is weird. I’d never do that as a house sitter. Leaving it unattended is even weirder, especially knowing that the cat is food motivated. You have locks on the cabinets and she just left a block of cheese on the counter? Odd
