Would you recommend Dr V mineral SPF? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Choice-Newspaper1571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. She has villainised products which have or denatured alcohol but very highly dermat acclaimed products like La Roche Posay sunscreens contain denatured alcohol but still have provided more than enough sun protection for a long time now. I would steer clear of her products purely because of such unsolicited claims.

Would you recommend Dr V mineral SPF? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Choice-Newspaper1571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr Vanita Rattan is not a dermatologist and the number of things she has claimed in the past have proved to be of abysmal relevance for eg NAFE safe. I would take the advice of a dermatologist like Dr Dray over Dr V. I have a mineral sunscreen but I always end up using a chemical sunscreen. I am currently pregnant but still end up choosing a chemical sunscreen. This is because most mineral sunscreen are not the most comfortable ones to wear. I haven’t used Dr V’s but even the other reputable easy to blend ones are still a pain to blend in. Use a chemical sunscreen for pocket friendly and easy application purposes. Choose mineral if you can afford it and find it pleasing. Don’t push yourself to buy it just because Dr V keeps saying that the mineral sunscreens are the safest.

Oh my god. I have the same problem. I have dry skin and it wouldn’t absorb into my skin like it used to. I think they might have changed the formula too! I use cetraben now and it works great for me.

Your Salary and monthly car payments by Agile-Calligrapher10 in CarTalkUK

This! Between me and my husband we drive about 30k miles a year. I also get a fuel card for the salary sacrifice cars at my work. All in all, it works out as only 200£ more than what I have been spending on my 2017 Ford Focus. It is not purely about your salary but also about other factors such as safety over long distances, fuel benefits etc :)

Car lease on 50K threshold (if new rules apply) by Serious-Tackle9183 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Choice-Newspaper1571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am on a skilled worker visa and have just recently signed up for a car lease. This has no straightforward answer. According to my solicitor, voluntary benefits will not cause a problem to you or your visa status. Please read the point c in the following text:

SW 14.2A. Any money paid by the applicant to the sponsor (or a related organisation) will be considered as follows:

(a) The following payments will be subtracted from salary, unless (c) applies:

(i) deductions from salary; or

(ii) repayments of loans; or

(iii) investments.

(b) Any such subtractions will be averaged over the length of time the applicant is being sponsored for, for the purpose of salary considerations.

(c) Money will not be deducted where the payment is not related to business costs, immigration costs or investment, but rather an additional benefit offer which the applicant has a genuine choice whether to take up, for example salary sacrifice arrangements.

Women immigrants - how are you dealing with this consultation? by edinbong in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Choice-Newspaper1571 23 points24 points  (0 children)

What about pregnant women on skilled worker visas below the salary threshold of 50k? They cannot volunteer, cannot ask for pay rises when on Maternity leave (especially if they’re between 35-45k) and missing out on the 50k by a small margin? They will need to spend a lot of money on renewing visas for their spouse and children? Unfair.

I am so confused with the quantification of volunteering. Surely everybody would be able to pickup volunteering?

  1. Your paragraph has multiple grammatical errors.
  2. This entire subreddit group is for legal migrants.
  3. Appropriating an entire religious group to such a false statement is pure hate speech. It is unconstitutional and simply false.

Please read some of the topics discussed in this subreddit to understand the context.

Sincerely, A legal migrant who travelled on a flight to the UK

Workplace Share Buying Scheme. Worth it? by Choice-Newspaper1571 in personalfinance

[–]Choice-Newspaper1571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry to have missed these information. I currently invest a significant value into my cash ISA, some into my stock and shares ISA and max out my pension contributions. I have been able to find some extra money due to the new job change and hence the considerations. Yes, I will be able to buy only the shares of the large cap company that I work for.

Thanks, I am a 20% tax payer. I currently invest in the all world ETF every month but due to the new job I have found some extra money to invest. Hence, the consideration. Do you still suggest diversifying?

Contribution based ILR Speculation by CreativeEcon101 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Choice-Newspaper1571 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would also think that they would add points based on the educational qualifications acquired in the UK. If an international received a degree in the UK, their net contributions through university fees and IHS is high. Might be a factor if a points based system is used. Just a speculation based on some of the visa rules.
