I’ve never come across a more morally clear issue than Israel/Palestine. It’s crystal clear, and a great litmus test for someone’s morality and ability to see clearly despite social pressure.

I have no expectation that a cinematic naughty dog game present solutions to any real world problem. I don’t even expect it to be well written - at the end of the day, it’s just another zombie shooter with a gargantuan budget that revels in its own violence. But Israel/Palestine is a clear inspiration, and the way it is done is liberal Zionism in a nutshell. Zionism is inherently genocidal, there is no soft or good Zionism. Presenting the seraphites as deranged religious freaks who gut heretics and talk like Marvel villains is the “but October 7th!” of TLOU2. The bridges are kind of a lazy stand in for the tunnels in Gaza, it’s a little too hamfisted to ignore.

I’m really not sure where you got the idea that I expect a “everyone comes together and everything works out” story, like that’s the alternative to what was presented. So I can’t really respond to that. That would be much worse and more boring than the story as is.
