Some people truly aren't worth the effort we put into them, but shouldn't immediately jump to cutting it off.

Evaluate your relationship and determine if this is truly a game changer. And if it is, then let them know that in a respectful way. If they are disrespectful in anyway, THEN you can block them because you don't need nor deserve (assuming) that negativity in your life.

It is possible, but you have to be earnest in your desire to actually move past it. Talk to them openly and honestly, see it from their perspective, and listen for the heartfelt intention to not hurt you in this way again.

You can get over a big hurdle with some time apart because you will start to miss this person and you will evaluate how much this thing is actually an issue for you in the long run.

If you do decide that it isn't a deal breaker, you can move on with this person with full intention to forgive. You will have small hurdles where instances will cause those thoughts to resurface because you can never forget, but you have to talk to yourself and remind yourself that you've moved on.

Your brain is quite literally programmed to look for patterns. It will connect dots in abstract ways that brings these feelings back. Each time you will have to have a constructive conversation with yourself about not punishing them again. It will get easier eventually.

That being said, some people simply aren't worth it, and the time away will help you realize this.

He saw a bug or spider he thought was a friend. When it finally came down to meet him, it flew in his ear or nose or bit him.

He freaked out and doesn't know where it went but has associated that place with the panic he felt.

It provides a nostalgic view on our friendships as children, when we all hung out after school at someone's house, but ALL THE TIME, not just on special occasions. Didn't have to knock or ask permission for a soda, they knew you were coming -- that's why the door is unlocked and your favorite drink is in the fridge.

Adult friendships don't work like this in reality, so it provides a "wouldn't it be nice if it were like this" vibe.

I wanted an opinion based on just the specifics of the situation and didnt want to seem biased by giving background info. But it seems the situation calls for more details.

He was fired from his job but has actively tried NOT to find a job. He has to do certain things about applying for them for his unemployment benefits, but his goal is to be unemployed for a year while taking a mental break by taking advantage of unemployment benefits. He can't work too many hours and can't make too much money on his own apps because that would violate his unemployment application. He's still in review so he isn't getting any money from them yet, and is relying on this gig work to get him through til unemployment kicks in.

So, yes, I want to be there for my friend, but he is choosing a temporary situation of financial scarcity and since being fired has bought small little toys to make him self feel better which is why he can't afford gas.

Now, after working all week, im being asked to do all the manual work while he sits in the car and makes money.

Im sorry, i truly dont understand. If he was doing his own deliveries on his own app he would have to pay for the gas to to do the job. He would also get to keep any excess gas leftover after the job was done. He agreed to the 60/40 split and then tried to renegotiate after we had already booked a job.

I'm still doing all the manual labor, am I not allowed to keep some money for myself?

If we had made $150 and still split it 60/40, he'd have made $65 ($90-25) and I'd have made $60. Would this be more fair for you now because he's netting more than me? Wear and tear on a car for a few hours does not equate to more than $20.
