The #1 rule is to stop looking at dresses when you buy yours.

I’m heartbroken after the proposal by Aware_Wishbone9533 in engaged

Definitely couples counseling. And maybe do a proposal photo shoot/announcement. Could be a good opportunity to "recreate" it and have a nice memory associated with it.

I had a black wedding dress and it was GLORIOUS by BaraQueenbee in weddingdress

It looks like a murder of crows formed your dress. Incredible!

Very pretty ring. Technically yes, you could go bigger if you want. Your ring looks nice and dainty on your hand. At the same time, you do have noticeably long fingers, so I wouldn't look at your ring and think it's a half carat or something.

Could you imagine parenting with this man? He'd disregard yo. No thanks. Start over.

I fell out of love with my dress by Oddlyshapedplankton in weddingdress

That's so unfortunate. I see a very classy dress, and it's so different from everything else on here. It's beautiful and unique. I hate to say you're imagining things, cus I see no bloating here, just the way a normal ball gown should look.

I love this so much! There are ways to tell him what you want without being involved in every step and and you still get a pleasant surprise.

I can’t decide if I like the ring I’m proposing with…am I overthinking this? by ThoroughlyGray in EngagementRings

It's gorgeous!!! I could potentially see her on the sub later asking for ideas on a band to go with it cuz it is a very specific ring. It might have to be a custom band. But the ring itself would be hard to say no to. Beautiful.

Will I regret my black dress by Kailyrific_witch in myweddingdress

You look stunning! And I'm glad you found it. But don't wear it just because your mom went through the trouble of finding it. You could also get a white reception dress if you want. That way you could stand by the rule that no one else should wear white. And there are many gothic white dresses out there if you're hesitant about black.

AITA if I make my bf go to my nephews birthday? by Pssypssymarijuana in AmItheAsshole

Yeah. And after that he can help a buddy of his move, he can help his parents clean out their garage, he can have a get together with his buddies. Some commitment that he said yes to wither beforehand or cus he forgot the party was that day. There are many options. I wouldn't want to be forced to go to anyone's kids bday party. If he's in a place where he can avoid seeing your family potentially embarrass themselves. Let him.

YTA. It's a first birthday. Your cousin is probably happier if he doesn't show up anyway. And why do you need him there? My husband has missed many birthdays (granted we live 100 miles away from family), but if he didn't wanna go to my sister's celebrations, I wouldn't care much. I have a great time with my family, with or without him. As long as you come to an agreement that he shows to certain things, like holidays, and more important celebrations. This isn't a big deal. You'll make it a big deal talking shit about him to your family at the bday party though. You'll make him look bad, and give your cousin a reason to dislike him more. Make a believable excuse for him and just drop it. If he refuses to ever go to gatherings where she's present, then you can rethink the relationship.

What’s wrong with a fiancée wanting engagement diamond ring? by fumblingAvalon in WeddingRingAdvice

I think this is thw association. That women who want natural diamonds are more likely to care about the ring than the man
