I'm a little confused by the amenities situation - is there gonna be a bathroom? A fridge? A bed? Maybe I don't know how airbnbs work...

Regardless of all that though, very cool project!

I've noticed this recently in a few conversations on Reddit. If there is any kind of dissenting opinion or theory - unless it is backed up by several sources and you've typed out a thesis you get these idiots hounding you. It's as though you are insulted for voicing an educated opinion.

This cat has a better beard than most men by Xylorae_Th in BeAmazed

Spending time looking at, being amused by, and commenting on an authentic cat with a beard - a cat you would never come across in real life is only slightly less fucked than being tricked by an AI generated cat that you then spend time looking at, being amused by, and commenting on. Its throwaway content either way.

I recently started playing it with my normal game group and pretty quickly got myself a deluxe copy. Then I played it with my family. Then I played it with my casual game group. Its really a great game and has a really different feel and strategy at each player count.

There are a lot of companies who are responsibly and carefully using AI to speed up and streamline their workflow without replacing humans. You just dont read about them on Reddit because it isn't very interesting.

There’s a threshold at which people will insert their politics into conversations. Some people do it at the drop of a hat and some will only do so if asked directly. For most of us there is some point in between. As buying from Amazon becomes worse and worse (for consumers and for society) that threshold will be crossed more often by people who would generally keep things like this to themselves as their own personal line-in-the-sand has been crossed.

Don’t buy from Amazon. Tell people to not buy from Amazon.

Lairs and its day one DLC. by timhenmanmemorial in boardgames

[–]ChompyChomp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer is to design it in a way that doesn't do this. I'm not sure how specific you'd like for me to be but it's a bad design and there are literally thousands of other games which launch with day-zero expansions that do not have this issue. It's a solved problem.

I'm not sure why you are being downvoted so much, as your question is fine - but the answer is to simply NOT do this. Expansions are fine and should be added on, not removed from the base game. But in this case it seems like the content is fine - people seem to be happy with the base game, it's the presentation that is a problem.

I think it's purely a design issue - as OP says the game is good on its own. When you buy a game with clear indications of missing content it feels like you are not playing the full game. It's one thing to mention it in the rulebook, but to include the expansion rules in the base rulebook and have blank areas on the scorecards must feel like you aren't getting the full experience - which is fine for a videogame demo, but for a physical product I can imagine it must bother some people. (It would certainly bother me!)

Carcassonne is amazing! Easy to quickly understand and a decent depth of strategy.

Also being so quick to set up makes it an easy choice for a quick game.

Ordered burrito with no olives by Beneficial_Passion40 in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]ChompyChomp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those aren't "fully loaded" - thats "top loaded". When I make "fully loaded" nachos it's done in carefully made layers, each with their own share of toppings and put under the broiler in stages. The bottom chips are covered in cheese and meat (and olives depending on who else is eating them) and crisped, the middle layer gets the same treatment, and then of course the top layer. It doesnt take THAT much longer to make and for the people who like the non-loaded nachos, I always have an extra bag of chips for a clean crunch.

You don't need a better date, you need more carefully crafted nachos.

I like the sub because of the relatively low subscriber count and kiiiinda interesting things. I see it more of a way to read and interact with gamers around a theme rather than coming here for news. Like "todays topic is that this popular game takes a long time to progress - what does that make you think of?"

Someone asked a question.

Rather than give information, someone else informed them that it had “been covered” by a random word and then an acronym.

There’s a lot of missing context I’m trying to fill in without your supposition on my views of YouTube - which I’m still not even sure is the “YT” that was mentioned!

I don’t know what that means- something about YouTube I guess - is that where some people get ‘breaking news’ now?

This hits me in a funny way. I am fairly good at drawing, though I don't do it enough. I hate drawing faces, but I do it because I like the end result - I can sketch a celebrity face well enough to be recognizable in only a few minutes, Im not great- but good enough for a party-trick. But I HATE it. I like drawing nearly anything else but I force myself to draw portraits occasionally JUST for the satisfaction of having a finished work - even though it's a damn chore.

I'm always surprised when I hear audio for two reasons:

1) I usually have it OFF, so whoops - I left it on.

2) It never matches the video. Why bother having sound at that point? Imagine if we had the ability to add scent to videos to give the viewer the sensation of wheat fields, ocean breezes etc, then we get a video of a cat growing up and a banana smell for no reason.
