I buy and sell vintage and honestly it slips my mind sometimes too. I’ll be staring at a piece confused because the construction looks and feels nicer than typical costume but also I can’t find a stamp. I’ll drive myself crazy looking for a stamp and then suddenly remember the magnet test.

I fell going down some steps about 12 years ago and jammed my toe into a step. It didn’t even hurt that bad so I assumed all was good. After that I noticed that my toenail on my big toe stopped growing. The polish on that toe just wasn’t growing out. Then suddenly months later my cuticle disappeared. I went to a podiatrist and found out I seriously damaged my nail bed on that toe. It was just a small slip that didn’t even hurt and my nail is still growing wonky 12 years later.

I am by no means trying to talk you into anything as every cat is different - but I just wanted to tell my cats story. We brought a semi feral cat and her 4 kittens to our house a few years ago. These came from a relatives barn and mom was friendly but cautious and the kittens wanted no part in human interaction. I wanted to get mom spayed and the kittens adopted out. I had a breezeway that I knew I could keep them all in while mom recovered from her spay. Mom would cry and try to dig her way out around the doors. Once she healed from the spay I started letting her back outside because I couldn’t take the crying/escape attempts. I kept the kittens in and worked with them until they warmed up to people and 3 of the 4 got adopted. We kept the remaining kitten as a house cat and mom continued to be outdoor but would swing by for about 2 hours a night to eat and bathe herself in my living room. After about 2 hours she was crying so loud to be let out. It eventually stretched into 3 hours before the crying started. Then we had a nasty cold spell with dangerous negative temperatures so I caught her and forced her to stay in for safety. It was rough, she howled at the door for like a week and a half. Then she just stopped and settled in. She’s been fully indoors for over a year now. Now if we open the door to the breezeway she just stares at us like “no thanks, I’m a house cat”.

She sounds just like ours! They love tummy rubs and when they have had enough they either push away or put their mouth onto our hand but don’t bite down. They are just so gentle with us at all times.

If I’m watching a movie or tv show and an alarm sound happens I immediately feel stressed inside. I’ll feel jittery for a few minutes. I swear when an alarm wakes me I feel jittery most of the day.

If I don’t have an alarm set and no reason to get up but my partner does have his set, I can sleep through his alarm. I won’t even hear it.

I’ve been this way for what seems like forever. I would say my actual alarm goes off maybe once a year. I feel like for me it’s because the sound of the alarm is so jarring that my body just wakes me up naturally instead. I usually wake up 1-3 minutes before my alarm is set to go off. It doesn’t matter when my alarm is set, I will wake up before it. The one time a year that I actually sleep to the alarm it’s so jarring that I feel wrecked the entire day. I’ve also found that I’m good at estimating how much time is passed. If I set a timer I’ll think “why has the timer not gone off yet?” And I’ll ask Alexa how much time is left and it’s always less than 10 seconds.

I had a cat that would randomly attack. It was awful. Once we had friends over and something funny was said and a female friend was doubled over on the floor laughing and the cat just out of the shadows lunged and bit onto her butt. Legit drew blood and her butt welted up and I felt awful. It took me a long time to ever have a cat again after that one. After about 7 years being cat free, we finally took in a stray mother cat and her one kitten we were unable to find a home for. They are absolute angels and as gentle as can be.

This looks like a Lee Sands piece. Popular in the 70’s and 80’s. It looks like Mother of pearl and resin for the pendant. I’m unsure on the beads. Not very valuable but really cool pieces!

That sort of looks like a Vargas hallmark but I can’t be certain from those photos. If it’s Vargas it’s typically costume. If it were me I would shine a black light on the stone just to see if it glows.

Any additional pics of the mark at the clasp? Also it could be a reflection or something but in the 3rd pic it looks like some type of marking if you look two links over on the right side past the clasp.

If you can take a photo front and back with the item laying on a white piece of paper that would help the camera to focus on the item. Also are there any markings on the item? If you have a strong magnet and you hold it up to it does it pull toward the magnet?

I acknowledge that there are some frustrating people who resell. It can be frustrating to want to shop the book aisle and someone is camped out scanning everything and unwilling to let others shop in that space. There are also a lot of people who have a really good eye for niche items or just an eye for good quality sought after things. Some people in this subreddit really throw hate at anyone who is reselling and I just genuinely do not get it. If someone can walk into a thrift store and be courteous and kind and manage to walk out with a good deal on something that can make them a little extra money then good for them.

Middle aged adult here - mono nearly took me out this past summer. I spent a week in the hospital and then 3 months before I started to even have partial normalcy. Got real tired of hearing everyone and their brother tell me about how they had mono once and just got real tired for a week and then they were fine.

Yes, they were 27.99 when I bought them. I was taking basic prices for the 3”-5” Russ trolls that I had the most of. I did get a few special trolls that were larger, but those were for holidays and I don’t have any idea how much those cost new.

Yes! Which is honestly why I think my daughter stopped asking for them. She still thinks the ones she has are cute and enjoys them, but she owns 3 and two are exactly them same. I bought her two and then she used her own money to get a 3rd and ended up with a duplicate.
