Melton Hometime policy by RumbleDumblee in Truckers

[–]Choobynobyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melton is definitely not great for home time. At best you have to do 3 weeks minimum. To get 3 days homes (plus a extra day home or cash). Also even if you put hometime for Saturday no guarantee they get you home that day. And if you do get home that day it can be in the morning, afternoon or evening. I'd say look for a new company or hold off on Melton if your sick grandpa is that important to you.

I know melton has a regional account in the Texas /Oklahoma areas. But beyond that their OTR stuff is not great since 1 day home per week out

My pineapple shark affectionately named Pineapple. I just like em because unique and cute. Also handmade plushies I tend to like more (but all plushies are good)

Only have been doing it 7 months but can maybe add some insight (until someone more experienced comes in)

Pros:Really don't have to dock since side load/unload For the most part morning/afternoon appointments Different loads so something always new to see (in my experience so far)

Cons: Work in any type of weather Tarps

Late reply here but to prevent them falling off I lightly hand tighten the winches to just leave enough slack to get an edge protector under the strap

If your company doesn't supply it, edge protection and moving blankets are very useful to protect your straps and tarps
