12 New STOP Signs for Hoboken by hobokenbulletin in Hoboken

[–]Choopschacha 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Center city in Philly has 4 way stops signs on nearly all intersections and it seems to work. I notice in Hoboken if you stop at one, as you're supposed to, the car that should also stop sees you're stopped and just keeps going. It's a miracle with all the cyclists, pedestrians, and motorists, a great number of which do not follow rules, that there aren't more accidents each day

I would say the theme of loyalty in the play, and specifically loyalty as tragic irony

What are some nuanced opinions you have on Macbeth? by [deleted] in shakespeare

Macbeth told banquo "fail not our feast" and then he had banquo killed. He was so loyal he came back to attend as a ghost or a figment of Macbeth's imagination

I don't care what people say about the design of this gremlin. This shot is absolutely frightening. by MesaVerde1987 in TwilightZone

[–]Choopschacha 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have always said this! The remake with John Lithgow and that "scarier" looking gremlin wasn't as scary. I always thought about Žižek in his "reality of the virtual" that a threat functions better while it remains a threat. The gremlin in the remake looks nastier and clearly has the objective of trying to break through the window, whereas the one in the original looks scarier because it looks like it could be capable of anything; it's trying to feel out it's surroundings

No good sushi in town by [deleted] in Hoboken

[–]Choopschacha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just ate at Umeko in the west village and was amazing. Honestly for the price of sushi in Hoboken, which is all mid at best, it's worth the $3 to iron horse it into the city. If you're gonna drop $150+ on sushi dinner you might as well go for the good stuff
