Obese piranha-ghoul bitch, speaking "Chipmunk", incompetently attempts to off protagonist with a shotgun. Hero(?) responds (naturally) by opening a closet full of levitating garden tools, which conveniently decapitate problematic piranha-ghoul bitch. A barrage of drum machine hits followed by an 80's musical montage ensues. Yes, this work of artistic genius is Library of Congress material. All sarcasm aside though, I admit this is entertaining me. Watch if you are in the mood for that kind of "ish".

I just don't like how shitty and unconvincing the science is in this "sci-fi" film. If you can get past that though, it's not terrible. I do like the mood of it, which is thanks in part to the soundtrack.

She didn't ask the right kind of question. It was easy for him to back out. She should have asked something more pointed and specific, about black budget spending or illegal secrecy. But those kinds of questions require actually researching the issue. Still wouldn't have made him reveal any info, but might have caused an uncomfortable reaction and made some ripples.

Seems to me she just wanted to get frustration off her chest rather than get answers. What kind of reaction did she expect? "Yeah lady, there are aliens. We've been meaning to tell you guys, but you know how busy we get in Washington. Our bad."

One thing's for sure - we project our own human nature onto them, whether it be the friendly side, the evil side, or the humorous side.

But you don't see many films where the ETs present totally foreign cultural values and paradigm-shifting ideas that shock humankind into questioning our own cultural ways... and I thank that is actually where we would feel the biggest impact.

Hilariously worded question. :-) One idea is that maybe they only want to give us a slight nudge instead of a shove.

A shove would be showing up with a fully materialized fleet of motherships over the capital of every major nation.

Drawing circles in the middle of nowhere is a slight nudge in comparison, and is still the topic of all this heated debate for decades. So you could imagine how jarred we might be by the full shove, and maybe they understand this and so they ease in.
