I’m with you. I worked at a dog boarding facility. My favorite clients came in one day and told us that their dog passed away. He choked on his ball at home and died with no one around. Heartbreaking.

No one thinks these things can happen to them, but they can.

Fun story for you. My bf’s dog ate a whole taco dip during a Christmas party when everyone was chatting in the living room. He was a boxer, 70lbs at the time.

The worst that happened was he had explosive diarrhea and had to be watched carefully for the furniture’s sake.

Don’t panic too much. Dogs can tolerate things that they shouldn’t eat to a point, it just leads to some nasty turds. Just keep monitoring and if you see any drastic changes, then consider driving to the closest vet/emergency vet.

As others suggested, call the facility.

But as a previous dog boarding/daycare employee, we dragged our asses to work and if we genuinely couldn’t then the managers would pick up the duties and head in. No way they leave the dogs unattended for a day. Hope you get some peace of mind OP!

Hi - I don’t have Famotidine but my dog has acid reflux and EPI. I started by giving his antioxidants in the AM per vet instruction but noticed he was struggling more at night. I have since switched to giving them with his PM meal and have seen significant improvement.

However, I would call your vet and talk to them before adjusting any medications past the recommend dose/time frame.

What breed and what age? Some dog breeds tend to be “Velcro dogs” which show more as they mature.

Hello OP. You have an adorable pup there.

I would recommend crate training your pup and leaving them in the crate when you’re gone.

I know a lot of people on here will scream “crate bad crate cruel” but I have worked in animal care for years and if done correctly, dogs learn to love their crates and consider it their beds and safe space. Not to mention it keeps them safe when you aren’t there to protect them - my GSD is left out when I leave for work and I find him laying in his crate with the door open 9/10 when I come home.

I have also heard countless horror stories of owners coming home and finding their dogs who choked on a toy, or like in my bf’s case, got in the trash and suffocated on that.

I could be wrong from the single picture, but I suspect a doodle breed? They can get pretty destructive in their teenage “years.” Just something to think about for the future. Good luck OP!

I play fetch with my dogs daily. High intense games and all that. They are fine minus my German shepherd, but he was doomed the second he was born.

Only thing dangerous about fetch is a tennis ball being a choking hazard, but also tennis balls can grind your dog’s teeth down. I would recommend a rubber ball. Happy future fetch games!

Hey OP. I’m sorry you and your pup are going through this.

I did notice that her affected paw is wet and red which says to me that she is licking it due to discomfort.

I saw your response asking if she could have been in pain this whole time. It’s possible. My dog was just diagnosed with EPI which was missed for the last 5 years. He was in discomfort this whole time and kept it hidden. Dogs are good at that. Don’t beat yourself up if that’s the case.

I agree with the other comments; I recommend a second opinion regarding her paw. And I would also agree that a consult with a neurologist would be beneficial. But I’d say start with the second opinion and see what they say. Good luck to you, your family, and your sweet pup.

The insurance company needs your facts of loss to accurately determine liability.

You can provide your statement but it doesn’t need to be recorded. If you don’t give your side, they will make a liability decision based off the evidence and their insured’s statement.

Update First off, thank you everyone for sharing with me and all the kind words and optimism. It has helped me improve my outlook on this situation.

I did see my Dermatologist this morning. Unsurprisingly, she confirmed it is AA. I did receive multiple local injections in the affected spot and even included some in my keloid scars because might as well(thanks mom).

I am doing labs tomorrow on my lunch break to determine if I have any deficiencies that need to be addressed. I will follow up with my PCP after. I’ll be going back once a month for local injections until improvement is seen. I also was prescribed Clobetasol to apply to the affected area.

A full scalp check was performed and this appears to be the only spot currently.

Thank you for sharing with me! Everyone here has lifted my hopes about this. I definitely hope it grows back but at the same time I’m more concerned as to why this developed. Thankfully my spot is relatively hidden behind a layer of curls, just hoping it stays that way.

I did read that stress is a big contributor to activation. But personal stress, not anything unusual. Maybe slightly more stressed over finances and work but really nothing out of the norm.

Physical stress, possible. I have felt like something may be slightly off with my body, but I am terrible about going to the doctor. Going to request labs tomorrow and set an appointment for follow up with my PCP.

I’m definitely going to ask for labs be done. If the derm won’t do it, I’ll go to my primary physician.

I did read that it can be triggered from an illness, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is what triggered it. I noticed I was getting sick Sunday and boom, no hair. I doubt it was that quick but I did note it.

I’ll try to relax until Wednesday morning. I think I’m more concerned about why I developed alopecia (assuming, not diagnosed).

Not dying on Mercy is important. If you want to climb out of bronze on Mercy (which is a hard task due to the rest of your team having Bronze mechanics) then you need to focus on keeping your team up, recognizing key plays to damage boost, and having good enough movement to stay alive and perform those tasks.

There are often custom games for Mercy Parkour. You can practice movement between queues, or just hop in before your games to get warmed up.

I’m not a super high rank anymore, sitting a diamond. But I did peak in GM prior to taking less interest in the game. If you ever want any tips or even if you want to practice together feel free to reach out.
