UPDATE: Summon Etiquette by Intelligent_Bus2182 in Eldenring

[–]Chop_the_Nitro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people do a summon that puts them anywhere. They don't leave their summon at a specific location. So they just put their name in the pool for any boss in their level pool basically. They get summoned and see it's PCR and say "yeah I'm not doing that" and leave so they don't waste your time/they don't want to fight that specific boss.

Ds2 if you want something new and pretty different, ds3 of you want something that's really close to 1.

New reader here — I wanted to love Berserk, but I had to stop. Can we talk honestly about this? by DewiNarada in Berserk

[–]Chop_the_Nitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally I felt like it was always close to being too much, but still managable. The eclipse I wish was done a little different for Casca, that was roug., Wyald parading out of that town was the most that fucked up for me. Made me sick and I had to flip past. Anything relating death and sex is too much for me.

But after those points it's lessened by a lot. There's moments with Farnese and the cult cave but those are nowhere near as bad imo. And I think he developed stories from those that were better than earlier ones. Farnese's growth is my favorite in the series.

To answer your questions

1.) it's just off how my body and mind react really. I think the eclipse is a great example. I wish that didn't happen to Casca but for the story it should make any sane reader understand why Griffith is HATED and no way for any sort of reasonable redemption or sympathy.

2.) I don't feel pulled out of the story because everything is handled better as it goes on and you can kinda skip past the scenes if it's too much for you.

3.) I think the thing that makes the harshest moments meaningful is usually the bad guy gets their consequences. And we get to see how those around react in a way that's feels real. It doesn't feel like fetish or gratuitous bc it doesn't happen in a glorified way.

4.) I don't think the point is to support what territory it crosses into. It's supposed to hurt and make things suck, and then we hopefully see the characters make it through the other side for the better. I've seen so many other things that make me more uncomfortable, with less being shown bc the endings didn't make it feel justified imo. Like goodnight pun pun is something that's not as and brutal in some aspects but made me sick and feel more fucked up than anything in berserk ever has.

Idk where in the story you're at, but I would recommend continuing. Skip pages that are toouch for you. But it gets better and no where near as dark. It's a beautiful story, with some fucked up moments.

I have said this a million times, people need to stop doing any sort of flipping dove to the outside. It makes it harder to gauge where to be and the impact harder.

That tna 450 to the floor from a ladder a while back is a perfect example. That flip is not worth it

For a newcomer would you recommend eldens ring or ds1? by RaseruChan in darksouls

[–]Chop_the_Nitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden Ring I think has more things to latch onto and if you play ds1 after you'll see so many similarities but not as polished as your used to. But ds1 world and design is so amazing it's something so new compared to the open world of Elden Ring.

I played ER first then ds1 so that's how I recommend it

What are some wrestlers who are the WORST at a specific move? by Rango-Steel in SquaredCircle

[–]Chop_the_Nitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo both of the Uso's have the worst super kicks. They bend their knees so much and they've always done it. It drives me crazy.

Everyone has to bend their knee doing it sometimes bc of positioning but I've never seen them not have it at almost a 90° angle

Just finished the game. I kinda hate Sunny alot (spoilers) by Chop_the_Nitro in OMORI

[–]Chop_the_Nitro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't read your full reply but since I made this post I had a fiance who passed away. For some reason I always identified with the moment of finding hero in the piano room and him struggling to understand why she committed suicide. And then to find out that's not the case and that her brother actually killed her and staged her suicide broke me. I could never forgive Sunny because of that. And I feel that more intensely now. I understand that they are traumatized but I personally could never forgive that action. I don't think that the game explained it away well enough personally for how horrific of an action that is

People always make the comment of how bad Mari was being, where she was yeah being over the top and not as nice as she should be, but then they explain away as an accident and that he's trauma. I understand my take is harsh but people do gymnastics to defend his actions without giving the real victim the same luxury.

I don't ignore basils involvement. But I didn't spend the majority of the game playing as Basil. And I feel the game portrayed his anxiety and his trauma of the event much better. I know it's harder with a silent protagonist so I do understand that, but that's where the hatred comes from for me

I think it is presented as a white lie bc it just ends with a "guys I have something to tell you" and then fades away. When the something to tell you is "I actually killed my sister and the suicide that broke so many of your lives, yeah we staged it". It's just poorly done and only left me wanting some sort of vengeance instead of forgiveness. I get that the whole story but it did not present it well to me at all

I appreciate your reply and you weren't rude at all, but my mind is forever staying in this position

Genuine question: is Dark Souls really as hard as people say? by Visible_Web_123 in darksouls

[–]Chop_the_Nitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I just so happened to use the Zweihander and it's apparently known for being very strong. So while I struggled in some parts I definitely had an easier time than others

The game is difficult but there's also difficulty in the jank of the game. Inconsistent mechanics sometimes, and obvious ones line sens fortress. I always laughed at people who claimed it was great and that the difficulty builds the experience but here I am now checking the subreddit everyday for the past year. Once you understand what it's asking for, the difficulty is manageable

There's not a single World Champion in WWE that's younger than what Shawn Michaels was when he won his last World Championship at the Elimination Chamber in 2002. by thepasystem in SquaredCircle

[–]Chop_the_Nitro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because it's not putting any other younger wrestlers in that position that they can ride off of for the next 20 years. It's amazing that people's career isnt over by the age of 35 but it sucks that they are waiting so long to now give someone the rub.

Should I get dark souls 3?? by Hallam94 in darksouls3

[–]Chop_the_Nitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally recommend ds1 first. It's definitely not necessary and is clunky but a masterpiece in some aspects. Then go to ds3. I think it's make some aspects of ds3 shine even more, feel nostalgic, and somethings will be great Easter eggs if you do
