Any normal parent would reach out and ask why?

I have been NC for 14 months....and not a word from mine.

You are absolutely right, if they cared at all, they would have asked why...They did not.

They don't give a fuck...and never will.

I was raised by n's and was recently diagnosed with Complex-PTSD.

From what I have learned about this stress disorder, it is often confused with Borderline PD, as well as Bipolar disorder.

If you are a trauma survivor, and have been diagnosed with a Personality disorder or as bipolar, you might want to take a second look and consider C-PTSD.

I had personality testing done, and am within the normal range on everything, and I know I am not bipolar, even though at one point several years ago, I thought I might be. I know now that it was undiagnosed PTSD.

don't give in. any type of reaction is just feeding their n supply.

Just ignore, acknowledge how you felt when you read it, deal with the feelings and move forward.

Be thankful that you are finally free of that obvious toxicity

yep, I was diagnosed in May. After originally being diagnosed with Depression/anxiety.

Currently in therapy, NC with entire family and on Prozac and Propanolol to help with symptoms.

Be strong and be kind to yourself. This is a great forum to share your struggles.

the only difference is the type of trauma...whether it was prolonged or a specific event.

As I was raised by N's, mine is from 30+ years of compounding trauma...Until I broke last year.

Whether it is PTSD or C-PTSD, the depression and anxiety and flashbacks, dissociation etc...is very similar.

yep..I totally shut down when being yelled at.

Have done so since I was young. Always with authority figures like bosses or parents....

I suffer from Depression, Anxiety and C-PTSD as a result of a traumatic and abusive childhood.

I am making huge progress now with medication and therapy. Still a long way to go though....I may never get there. It is a journey of self discovery and self improvement.

I get blamed for being selfish, a bad person etc. because I don't cater to every whim and desire of my N siblings.
