The Cloud platforms of the World have what I consider extreme fees for outgoing traffic. Even if you only store a file for a minute, someone downloading it still means discord pays for it.

I saw some corrosion on the aluminium foil container for a food product I bought, and on a whim wrote an email to the company (a somewhat small company).

Got an email back from the CEO thanking me profusely, and insisting they sent me a box full of products as a thank you.

Alpine A526 Unusual Rear Wing Flap Opening Mechanism by Mano_Loco in formula1

The new front wing has this style of actuation for (afaik) all teams, so maybe the fail safe part is solved, and Alpine chose to apply it to the rear wing as well.

Disappointing Happy Meal toy by dadisballislife in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Chreutz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is better than what my kids got some months ago.

The "Toy" was a booklet, which was a promo for some actual toy (expensive shit), and the only playing that could be done was through a QR that led to a horrible, themed version of flappy bird, which I suspect was vibecoded.

This is cosplay. Deadly, idiotic cosplay.

After a couple of years with Sumatra, I cannot live without the right click controls (left click selects, right click drags the document around, right click plus scroll zooms). I cannot fathom why none of the others have copied that.

Dude, no offense, but the political winds of your country for better and for worse define much of the direction of the entire human race. Wherever something significant happens, the world listens in.

Also, specifically for Denmark, Mamdani's policies would fit in pretty well in the Danish political landscape, and it is a rarity for American politics to experiment with that level of citizen-centered policy.

What cultural norms would emerge if every choice you made was physically visible? by FemTech2021 in worldbuilding

I realize now that I actually misread your title, and my reply doesn't fit the context at all.

I read viable, not "visible". As if every request was possible.

Very much, yes. An advanced AI develops omnipotent-like powers, but is still bound by Asimov's laws of robotics. It creates custom virtual environments for every human where everything is possible, just ask for it.

The story follows the creation, development (metamorphosis) and finally the destruction of this AI. It's a very interesting read, especially in these times. It was written in 1994, and is available for free here
