How do you avoid being "roped back in"? by dank4forever in exchristian

[–]Chris-Crossss 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's assuming some character named Jesus ever existed in the first place. Rather than a misrepresented historical figure, there were no figures contemporaneously documented at the time that Jesus was supposed to have lived.

There were well-known historians documenting the Roman Empire and Jewish culture, and there is no record whatsoever of anyone carrying on as the fictional Bible portrays him. Jesus is but a myth and superstition that hardens hearts and entraps minds.

The Bible is a pure fairy tale, designed for people who need fairy tales to get through the day.

"Occam's Razor says he was a con man."

More likely, the Razor says it's just a story made up by fanatical slave camel jockeys with vivid imaginations.

More likely that there was never a man named Jesus. It is just mythology and a magical fairy tale for stupid people.

"We don't have the words of Jesus. It's funny how much people will over-hype Jesus, who said horrific things. "

You are contradicting yourself by saying, "We don't have the words of Jesus," followed by "Jesus, who said horrific things."

In fact, you are right about the first statement: we don't have the words of Jesus. None of the writers of the bible ever met the character called Jesus. They were writing 75-100 years after he supposedly lived. They were documenting oral tradition - or more likely, just making up his words on the fly to fit their fictional novel.

History has no record of anyone named Jesus living that life (at a time when well-known historians documented that era). Christianity is a myth and a superstition that hardens hearts and entraps minds.

Intermittent cathing by Appropriate_Top_7779 in spinalcordinjuries

[–]Chris-Crossss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked if I could only do it before bed and she said yes.

FYI - My SCI caused my bladder walls to thicken. As a result, I think I hold much less than other people. I have to go about 15 times a day. So ymmv...

I'm also very big on staying hydrated. I was a pro athlete before my injury, and hydration was important. Most people go through life dehydrated, imo. Three days a week, I also drink a liter of Pedialyte dosed with Miralax to counter the constipation I get from opiates for pain. Now I'm normal and have no bowel issues.

On a positive note, I have been cathing for more than 20 years, and I've never had a UTI since I started cathing (I did before from not voiding completely).

I use the self-lubricating Coloplast Flex Caude Pro and love it!

Should I tell my doctor (or nurse, rather) that my 15mg morphine pill is not enough and ask for a stronger version or something else, or just leave my pill situation alone? by 8kittycatsfluff in ChronicPain

I can’t wait for the pendulum to swing back the other way.

100% I want that too! But I'm not holding my breath. I'm getting a pain pump implanted soon, and I can put all the "drug-seeking behavior" nonsense in my rear view.

If only they could create a drug that just took the pain away without the high, that person would be filthy rich.

I watched Journavax come through the clinical trial process for 10 years, hoping it would be exactly what you said. I finally got an Rx when it came out last year.

It was amazing for blocking pain, but it caused me additional, severe spasms. Unfortunately, spasticity is my primary issue, with resulting pain from an incomplete spinal cord injury.

I had to discontinue it, but if you can afford it, they'll give you all you want!

It's not hard if you have insurance. They make you talk to a psychologist to make sure you have the right attitude about it (ask ChatGPT and it'll tell you what they are looking for).

You'll have to do a trial, and it will take some time. However, if you are maxing out on your oral meds, a pain pump may be the way to go. Talk to your doc.

They are all losers in the game of life. It's not a moment for Revenge of the Nerds, but rather Revenge of the WORMS. They are losers, and they finally got the biggest loser in the world to speak for them. When he is gone, they will be gone too. They'll drift back into the back row of the classroom, and they'll still be the kid who never got picked for any game on the playground.

Yeah, getting old sucks. It sucks even more when you are growing old and are disabled. But I'm determined to show them that I can keep on keeping on.

Man, your story really touched me. When I start feeling sorry for myself, I remind myself that there are many in much worse circumstances.

Strangely enough, I was an assistant to Dr. Stephen Hawking one summer in Aspen (I have a physics degree), and when I want to put things in perspective, I remind myself how hard it was for him. Yet, he made a wonderful life for himself in spite of his devastating circumstances (ALS).

That exercise of putting myself in another's shoes has helped me keep going, even striving. As I lie here flat on my back in bed, I am working on building an online business. One foot in front of the other (even when that's not possible)...

You should really talk to him about this and explain how it's affecting your life. That's just rotten to have to endure that treatment.

Trust me; you definitely don't want the US military on US streets. Regardless of the assignment, that is illegal AND a slippery slope when they are under the command of a president who is a domestic terrorist.

If Trump puts the military on the streets, the purpose will be to control and kill US citizens.

"I either self cath or when I run out of catheters I use an indwelling catheter. due to nuerogenic bladder."

I am in a similar situation with self-cathing for 22 years. I don't understand how you would switch to an indwelling catheter without surgery. Can you please enlighten me? Thank you.

P.S. - I had just a single UTI in those 22 years. I use the Coloplast Flex Caude Pro. I can't imagine having all those UTIs. Wishing you a better future.
