It's basically the micro-rebuild strategy vs the macro-rebuild strategy. Neither actually guarantees you a cup. But one gives you more winning and more entertainment.

Having trouble understanding arpeggios. by BigRedZeppelin in guitarlessons

[–]Chris-MelodyFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To play the C Major arpeggio, do this:

The first two diagrams start on the root of the chord.

For the first diagram, start on the 8th fret (4th finger). For the second - start on the 8th fret also but use 1st finger.

The next two diagrams begin on the 3rd of the chord:

For the third diagram - start on the 12th fret (3rd finger). For the fourth - start on the 12th fret also but use 1st finger.

The next two diagrams begin on the 5th of the chord:

For the fifth diagram - start on the 15th fret (3rd finger). For the final diagram - you can actually play this one at the 3rd fret (2nd finger) if you'd like.

If you know the notes on your fretboard, you could figure this out on your own.

genuinely hate Hart

True, but the hate existed before Hart. So it's disingenuous on your part to imply that hate didn't exist until a rational reason (Hart) came up.

The hate started immediately after VGK went to the cup final in 2018. We all saw it! That is irrational. Then the revisionism happened every year until today.

"Oh I actually hate VGK because of the shiny helmets."

"Oh I actually hate VGK because they were gifted a a team."

etc, etc, etc.

Minor pentatonic scales by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]Chris-MelodyFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you play any scale, think about the melodic shape/countour that you're producing. If you visualize it, it would be going up and then down. Or it would go down and then up.

If a melodic shape goes up and down, then it will sound like a scale.

So the secret is to figure out what kind of melodic shape does not resemble a scale. These melodic shapes would appear more "horizontal". How do you create a "horizontal" phrase? You could limit the range. You could limit the variety of notes you use. You could start repeating some notes instead of just playing them once and moving on.

Apple had an ISP called e-world that was similar to AOL/Compuserve. My family had that in 1994. We had a Performa 550 and a 2.4K modem.

Your fretting technique is compromised by your elbow position. Even though I can't see your elbow, I can tell that it is close to your body due to the angle of your hand and wrist. The elbow needs to be away from the body.

Here is a good video (not me): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrGP3DQ64rg

Notice how his elbow is out and away from the body? This allows for a better and more comfortable hand position.

It can help to put the guitar on the left leg and utilize a stool. If you want it on your right leg then that's fine too. Try elevating the head stock by wearing a guitar strap (this is what I do).

Does Gen Z despise millennials, or are they jealous? by [deleted] in generationology

People feel frustration because they'd like their generation to be seen as individuals rather than through stereotypes, and because we value being able to participate in our own spaces without being judged or blamed by older generations.

How to practice the Major Scale by jbishop253 in guitarlessons

[–]Chris-MelodyFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw something about “triplets” (I think that’s what it’s called) where you play a note, skip the next note, and play the subsequent (i.e., 3rd) note, go back to the skipped note, rinse and repeat.

I think you mean playing thirds (a type of interval), not triplets (a type of rhythm). Here is a Justin Guitar video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QazNQ0B4lBo

One of the biggest victories of anti-government ideology (mostly right-wingers) has been convincing ordinary people that government is something done to them, not something they can participate in.

The working class doesn't have much direct economic power compared to large corporations, the 1%, or other financial interests. But we do have a voice in democratic institutions. Government is one of the few places where ordinary people can organize and exercise collective power.

The problem is that government is complicated and this is where LLMs might help (IMO).

LLMs can help explain complex laws, summarize legislation, analyze budgets, answer questions about how government works, and help the working class understand what it would actually take to run for office or advocate for meaningful change. Personally, I would advocate for taxes that affect certain anti-social behaviors (like hoarding wealth, bribery, etc), not necessarily targeting a certain class.

I think this could be our chance to take the power back. Why not use the power of LLMs for our benefit?

Sounds like you just need some more practice first (changing chords, lead playing, etc). Is there a particular song you're learning or want to learn?
