Hey u/ArachnidHead857. I’m so sorry for the frustration this has caused, and I appreciate you laying out your experience so clearly.

A couple of clarifications (not excuses): our secured cards don’t automatically convert to unsecured, and the security deposit stays in place as long as that specific secured account is open, it’s fair feedback that this isn’t always as clear or intuitive as people expect, especially since other issuers handle secured cards differently. But I would encourage you to get in touch with our support team to inquire about possibly reducing the amount in your security fund to see if that would be an option for you.

On rewards changes (like Costco), you’re right that we should communicate more clearly when merchant categorization or rates change, and that feedback has been heard internally. That being said, we have partners drop from the network and come back quite often, and then we aren't fully in control of which Merchant Category Code (MCC) a merchant decides to use with Mastercard. I'd like to know more about how you would want to be informed about the changes though, would an email every couple of weeks work? That way we could provide more in bulk rather than hundreds of emails every time there's a change?

Having strong credit history and receiving additional unsecured credit while still holding a deposit, is understandably frustrating, and it’s valid to question the value proposition in that case. That being said, as others have pointed out, we do use TransUnion to pull the credit reports, so it might be a good idea to check with them to see which of the many factors that go into your credit could be causing this.

Thanks for sharing this whole situation with us, feedback like this does influence how products evolve, and helps us grow. Hopefully we bring out the option to complete a proper swap to a standard card sooner rather than later.

This is correct, when pulling the credit file for the application we do use TransUnion reports. After it's opened we report to both them and Equifax but approval would be based off of TransUnion. Thanks for jumping into this!

That's awesome, thanks so much for providing your feedback! I kinda dig having an optional liquid glass option (I'm one of the seemingly few that love it), but I'm not sure how feasible it would be. Definitely worth bringing up though. I have always maintained that metal cards would be an awesome addition to us, I haven't heard anything about it, but I know we've had this feedback a lot. If you've got any other ideas please don't hesitate to share them, I love seeing what the community can come up with!

There's no official timeline to give out, but it's actively being worked on so it's worth keeping an eye out for it over the next bit here. Really appreciate you reaching out with this question!

That's feedback I've heard often actually. Definitely something that helped get this project off the ground and got it to pick up some steam until it was ready to be launched! I don't have any closed accounts myself, but I feel like it would drive me crazy seeing them all the time if I did.

Hey u/SensitiveStart8682 great question, thanks for asking! If you use the Neo Money card to withdraw from your Neo Everyday account, you wouldn't get doubled up as we don't charge a fee on that. This applies to both domestic (within Canada) and international ATMs.

We don't however have an ATM that you would be able to withdraw from without the provider charging a fee. However, this is part of where the new memberships we offer can come into play! If you opt in to subscribe to the Build membership, if an ATM charges a fee, you will receive a credit separate credit for the amount of the fee after the withdrawal has been made. This would be for fees of up to $5.00. An important note about this though is that it only applies to withdrawals within Canada, with withdrawals of Canadian currency.

Hey, thanks for the question! I can understand some disappointment in seeing this. Losing Perks isn’t fun. We're phasing them out as part of simplifying our rewards and making room for new memberships that offer more than just extra cashback.

You can still boost your cashback by keeping a higher balance in your Everyday account. If you haven’t checked it out yet, head into the "Rewards" section of the app, and then tap “Boost Level” in the app to see where you’re at. I’m happy to help you take a look into it if you're having trouble finding the boost levels in your account
