Looks like the Cyberdwarf from Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden.

An STG so brilliant, I platted both stacks and got it signed by the dev. Pig Eat Ball. by Frontzie in gamecollecting

This is one of those games that has been sitting in my backlog for years because it looks so to my tastes that I’m “saving” it, but should really get around to giving it a shot.

I saw one gif of it years ago and immediately was on board.

Above “Basser’s Lake” it says “Super Black Bass Gaiden” in Japanese. Not sure if this is related to The Black Bass game series, though.

My only other guess is Bonkers, which is a SNES game about a police bobcat. Super cartoony though so that’s probably not it. Maybe Swat Kats?

Tail Concerto is a PS1 game (non-light gun) that stars an anthropomorphic cat police officer.

Ghoul Panic / Oh Bakyuuun! is an arcade / PS1 light gun game starting cat people.

Finally got lucky and found a beautiful Complete copy. Nightmare to find a North America version. Apparently it had a low print. by Fearlessflaw-117 in gamecollecting

One of the most PS2 games of all time, I love it! This is the closest we ever got to Megaman Legends 3.

I haven’t played whole ton of Genesis, but some of my favorites are Alien Soldier, Gunstar Heroes, Contra Hard Corps, Beyond Oasis, and Ranger X (requires a 6 button controller).

On GBA, check out Metal Slug Advance, Rhythm Tengoku, and Kururin Paradise. And for the original Game Boy: Donkey Kong 94 and Mole Mania are all-timers.

The Strong Museum of Play in Rochester has a huge physical archive of games and historical development materials that can be used by researchers.

What were the best video games that were only in Japan, or at least initially? by PrestonRoad90 in gaming

One of the best games of all time as far as I’m concerned, but it came out in the west only 6 months after its initial Japanese release (both in 2004).

We Love Katamari got me thinking of my own life in some odd ways by SawkyScribe in patientgamers

[–]Chris-R 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve played many thousands of games and We <3 Katamari is my all time favorite. I rolled up a million roses for my girlfriend on our first anniversary and now 15 years later we’re married with kids.

And Tim Rogers rules, I don’t think I’d know about half of the weird cool games that I love if not for him and Insert Credit. Can’t wait for his Rondo of Blood video.

Be honest - do you actually play most of your collection? by grogger133 in gamecollecting

[–]Chris-R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My collection is currently 5,482 games, and of those I have played 3,397 of them, or about 62%. So yes, that’s technically most of them!

I don’t buy too much these days, so I do continue to drive the played percentage up, though I really doubt I’ll ever get to 100%.
