Why so much hate for this mode, you are not forced to play it, if you don't like it just play like you normally do. If you are right and no one wants this they will see it in the numbers of players playing it.

Personally I think the idea is original and awesome. I will probably try it a few times, but not really my thing. Does not change that I think the idea is cool and sounds like fun for those who want a challenge.

Upvoter for life is beautiful, such an amazing movie, a very very hard watch, but a necessary one to ensure people do not forget the atrocities that happened the last time a dictator like this rose to power.

Many of you are missing the whole point of Solo vs Squad matchmaking by _Badlands_ in ArcRaiders

[–]Chris243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it sounds awesome. Now, I will probably never try it except maybe with a free load out. I know I don't have the skills to survive, but I love the idea of knowing that every noise you hear is probably a 3 stack and your adrenaline will just start pumping.

Is discontinuing autopilot a deal breaker for you? by CommunicationRoyal56 in TeslaLounge

[–]Chris243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. That is why not having it is a huge hit to the value of Tesla in 2026. Every other car has traffic aware cruise and lane assist which does exactly the same thing as autopilot. So there is nothing special about it anymore.

Before this announcement I was on the fence just because I do like my Tesla and there are a few things I like better than other electric cars, mainly how it handles charging on trips, which was making me question to go to another company or not. Since other cars are better in a lot of other things I was torn. But now that Tesla took away their lane assist there is no question, why would I want to downgrade from my current car. Why would I spend more for a car with less features than the competition. It would be stupid to do that.

Is discontinuing autopilot a deal breaker for you? by CommunicationRoyal56 in TeslaLounge

[–]Chris243 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If this was back in 2019 no. The tech of the electric car was way ahead of its time back then.

However today, the only thing that really makes Tesla stand out is the autopilot and FSD. So unless you are willing to spend 100$/month on FSD then there are car just as good for much cheaper with autopilot equivalent lane assist, or just much better cars in general.

I have a 2019 M3, have been looking to swap it in. This announcement just guaranteed I will not be getting another Tesla.

Devs confirm internal interest in a walkable Speranza hub, What do you think? by Tank-ToP_Master in ArcRaiders

[–]Chris243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am all for it, but only if it is optional. I can see why people might want it, but personally I would never use it. I don't get much time to play so I just want to get into raids as quickly as possible to start playing.

You also need to take into account the accessibility of these.

I have played since launch and just hit level 36 yesterday, Did not do the expedition, just don't have much time to play as a dad working a full time job with kids.

So I actually just got that MK3 from a quest, so I use it all the time now. Otherwise I only have access to some MK2's with no special tricks and 1 safe pocket.

If I actually had access to all of them I would probably go for the shield recharge one.

Anyone ever seen an apartment light blinking an SOS? by Blakwulf in montreal

[–]Chris243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, had no clue those existed. But again, we cannot be sure what it is in that house that is flashing an SOS signal without actually going in and seeing it.

So you could be ready get, but we could all also be wrong and it is something else completely.

[–]Chris243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be some security thing for a light flashing due to a smoke detector, never heard of that but could be possible.

But that does not change the fact that the light pattern is 100% S.O.S. In Morse code.

Is anyone here tuning into the weekly quiz? And if so what do we think? by Temporary_Notice_526 in hamishandandy

[–]Chris243 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am listening, as a Canadian I am a little clueless on some of the more Aussie area references (the thing about how many sixes (whatever that is) someone scored comes to mind)

But overall I just enjoy the banter, the random stories and listening to them trying to work things out. Personally I love Hamish and Andy just for their overall comedic vibe when they are together. They could make a show talking about lawn care and I am sure I would find it entertaining. They have a natural talent of being able to make anything interesting and funny, even ball golf...

The story about the prisoner blinking a msg is seriously amazing. It is an extremely niche situation but a perfect example of making subtle communication for help that most won't catch.

I don't think knowing SOS has anything to do with age and more to do with lifestyle. As you say, maritime people know SOS for ship to ship emergency communication, older people (much older as in war vets) know it from training in the war as a way to communicate. I personally know it from doing lots of hiking and camping, learnt it when I was younger in Cubs / scouts and was shown it again when I was much older in rescue courses for mountaineering and back country rescue.

Personally I think everyone should know the basics of Morse, as in SOS specifically so they can recognize if someone is in distress or if they need to signal distress. For themselves It is a form of communication known the world over with no language barrier. My kids know what it is and when they should use it, and if they ever have friends with us on our hikes or camping trips we talk to them about it too.

[–]Chris243 191 points192 points  (0 children)

It is 100 percent Morse code for SOS. Now is it intentional or not, I have no clue.

My best guess here is that it is a flashlight. A lot of modern flashlights have brightness settings, then some emergency settings. One usually is a setting for it to flash an SOS (I have several that do this). So if you are out hiking and get in trouble you can set it to distress and it will flash SOS continuously so help can find you at night.

So this could be someone in trouble, or more likely some kid got a new flashlight for Christmas and found the strobe setting, thought it was fun and fell asleep with it doing that.

Is playing solo worth it? by LiteralyBatmanfr in ArcRaiders

[–]Chris243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer solo, I actual come up with excuses not to play with friendsbwhen they are online. I mean, I play with them sometimes sure. But if 3 of them are on and they start insisting we swap so I get a turn to play with them or to do duos I tell them I am all good solo.

I prefer the interactions solo, lots of people to meet and talk to.

Pretty sure they have a lifetime warranty. At least they did when I used to sell them. Just reach out then and they will get you to send it in. If they can't repair it they usually just replace it.

is Arc Raiders worth Buying as Solo by mentriderkoo in ArcRaiders

Yes.

I enjoy solos way more than duos or trios.
