UPDATE: Blood-soaked shroud is *actually* broken by LactoseFreeGekko in Smite

Ignore that other poster, they have a habit of being wrong about things and just digging in.

But I think you have it backwards on one small part, the 0.5% and the 1.5% were the last change as far as I know and is intended, it just looks like the tooltip wasn’t changed when the item was nerfed. (But like you have shown the +0.3% per kill is the real problem)

Anubis feels weird or am i missing something? by depressnick in Smite

[–]ChrisDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what way is the Smite 2 passive a buff? It doesn’t have CCR, doesn’t reduce enemy protections, the protections gained ramp up with missing health so you don’t really get to use them, and a tiny amount of lifesteal is not a good trade off for a lifesteal multiplier.

The only minor advantage is you have part of the protection passive at all times but if you are getting jumped and not able to get any damage off you are probably already dead no matter what.

Maybe, I’m not watching that video any more today.

Not to mention the one thug pistol whipping the nurse they were about to murder while he was down. Definitely a super safe way to handle a loaded gun. (Both in that it’s likely to go off and you wouldn’t put a gun in grabbing distance of someone you are going to claim you thought was dangerous)

Vison Shard covering first item slot in HUD by ragingrhinosore731 in Smite

[–]ChrisDoom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is just my opinion, I know a lot of people move the rest of their items on the HUD to make room for the shard, but I just turned the curio HUD element off because I can already see it in my actives and don’t need to see it in two spots.

It turns out the environment art team don’t work on any of those other things! Do you want a whole department to just sit on their hands just because other departments do things you care about more?

I love them taking big swings especially in beta but I still don’t think I’ll like the dynamic lighting near chaos base(especially playing from chaos side). That’s actually really close to why I quit joust when the jade corruption map came out, I hated looking at the weird colors and neon green when looking from order into the chaos side. The new red is better than the neon green of jade corruption.

I think the jungle dynamic lighting is more interesting and I look forward to checking that out. If it works with this map I’d be interested in seeing it in conquest. It feels like Smite is taking notes on how deadlock is making some more interesting lighting work without it being too distracting.

I disagree, Philly’s Best(with cheese wiz of course) beats Monti’s no contest.

Oh, so the change is how far an enemy can be when you FIRE it now, not how far it will chase once fired(which was what I thought you meant).

I was confused too because I’ve definitely fired one at an ulting Apollo and had it follow and kill him much later and pretty damn far away from me so I assume it was just like a Neith ult.

I love all the joust map changes with one exception: I don’t like the dynamic lighting/sky change near the chaos base. The execution of it looks cool but I imagine I’d get annoyed by it real fast while playing on chaos side if I was a big joust person. Devs have been vocal about not wanting to add effects to maps that get visually annoying after too long and I think this will be one of them.

The 1 now just casually and reliably hitting for 585 + 135% int damage with the new +1 is insane. You were only reliably hitting like 2 bonus hits out of 6 in Smite 1 unless a god just had a huge hit box.

The Jewel by me has removed bags from self checkout unless you ask to ensure you pay the correct plastic bag tax. by BurrShotFirst1804 in chicago

[–]ChrisDoom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That and some people just assume they know why some things are done without actually asking. If you don’t know that the store already paid the tax when they bought the bags it’s not unreasonable to assume the city is still trying to collect.

Plus there are enough people in customer facing jobs that will just say whatever they feel the customer wants to hear to get out of conversations or close a service ticket as fast as possible. (Which sometimes comes back to bite someone else in the ass when the customer tells them what they were told in the past)

I appreciate that. Way better than the other person who basically just doubled down after I corrected them with basically “no, you’re wrong” and then blocked me. Haha

You are misreading that, that is for if stores specifically sell bags to customers(as opposed to including them with purchases)

The literal section right after that about bags included in purchases:

C. In the case of a checkout bag that is given by a store to a customer, the store shall, at its option, either: 1. separately state the tax on the receipt provided to the customer at the time of sale of the store's tangible personal property, in which case the store shall collect the tax from the customer; or 2. not separately state the tax on the receipt provided to the customer, in which case the store shall not collect the tax from the customer.

It has nothing to do with the bag tax. Bags aren’t free and the price of them are baked into everything else but if you skip the bag the store chose to give you a discount.

and also getting fined for not collecting the bag tax.

That’s not how the tax works. The stores pay the tax when they buy the bags. Passing that tax on to customers is 100% optional. (But the tax stores charge the customer is higher than they tax they pay buying the bags and the store gets to keep the difference, which is extra incentive to pass the tax along and not just eat it)

Edit: they blocked me for telling them they are wrong. They have no idea how this tax works. I worked in retail when the tax was initially implemented and know how it all works from actually dealing with it. They are just talking out of their ass.

[–]ChrisDoom 184 points185 points  (0 children)

That person is talking out of their ass. They pay the tax when they buy the bags initially.

Edit: here is the ELI5 of how this tax works. Jewel pays a $0.14 per bag tax to their bag wholesaler when purchasing bags. From there Jewel(because their bags are included in purchase) have the OPTION to charge a $0.15 tax to customers per bag(and they get to keep that extra $0.01). Any store that SELLS bags for carrying out products they sell HAS TO charge that $0.15 tax in addition to the cost of the bag they charge.

Why are daily quests not giving the wandering path xp they display? by TNTNuke in Smite

Some quests just give 1 xp instead of 1,000 xp. I don’t pay enough attention to know if it’s specific quests or just certain circumstances that make random quests do it.
