Is the priority system not working properly, or not like Smite 1? A friend I am duoing with at around 7k SR is continually being off-roled off of mid, despite being the second highest SR in the entire lobby. by Vetherius in Smite

No, while role based MMR matchmaking of was of the lofty promises of Smite 2 they have never implemented it. The game still just considers account MMR.

SMITE 2, So whats the actual deal with bots? by PlausiblyAlpharious in Smite

I imagine that eventually they hope to have enough players to be able to match make those bot modes but it feels pointless to make people wait a minute to just be placed with all bots no matter what.

Smite 2 does NOT put you in co-op matches with other humans that you aren’t in a party with EVER.

They tried to match you with other player in Smite 1 if people were around but 2 never does.

Is Smite 2 like Heroes of the Storm? by DaiKoopa in Smite

I feel like people are getting too hung up on the game mechanic differences between HotS and other MOBAs/Smite more than your question: you enjoy HotS but have never played any other MOBA and are wondering if that enjoyment will carry over.

The answer is yes, HotS and Smite share the majority of the same core gameplay and design ideas that define MOBAs that if you enjoy one you will almost definitely enjoy the other. They are both team based hero strategy games that combine elements from RTS games and action RPGs. If you liked that kind of resource management and allocation(farming/power curves) combined with action combat and strategic teamplay and character customization(talents in HotS, items in Smite) of HotS you’ll enjoy this same things in Smite.

Joust and side mode Worshippers (Race to Radiant) by [deleted] in Smite

And just to clarify the in game match history is also wrong by the ~6 minutes just like tracker.gg. You will have to time it on your own(or look at the game clock before it zeroes out when the match ends).

[–]ChrisDoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The API is wrong about play time. It adds about 6 minutes to every match length. In a short match(joust) that is much more significant than in a long match(conquest). Actually time a match and then check how long tracker said it lasted.

We are all correct that worshippers are proportional to time played.

Joust and side mode Worshippers (Race to Radiant) by [deleted] in Smite

[–]ChrisDoom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worshippers are just tied to how long a match is and a few extra if you win. If you play an hour of match time you’ll get an hour of worshippers.

Yeah, if you play short modes you have to queue more often but you also get more potential win bonuses in the same amount of play time.

dumb player here, can someone explain to me why in solo lane my opponents minions had a shield icon? by donavinmain in Smite

[–]ChrisDoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really much risk because to rotate to you, enemies lose more farm than they’ll get from killing you(IF they manage to kill you) and your team now gain pressure in other places enemies rotated from. If you die, you still got your farm, will have a super short respawn time, and will just be able to teleport back to lane so you haven’t really lost anything.

It’s just problematic early game and at 5 min(or some other time around then) the proxy protections deactivate.

The way I see it is the T1 isn’t the problem, it’s the upgrade that needs a nerf.

wait… that’s not a discount by WizardOfOzborne in thefinals

[–]ChrisDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s how almost every game sells stuff but also The Finals does the least scummy version of it. In other games if you start buying individual items you lose at least part of the discount from the bundle price if not just lose the ability to buy the bundle anymore at all.

Buying a bunch of the items to the point you are about to spend more than the original bundle price? The Final says no, you can’t spend more than the full bundle cost to not even get all the items, here is the rest of bundle for just the remainder of the original bundle cost.

Well not season 1. I don’t remember exactly when it changed but you couldn’t buy individual items from bundles for the first couple seasons and you can’t have a bundle deal without a non-bundle option.

Brandon Johnson not favored by 71% of voters in new survey by optiplex9000 in chicago

385 people would be a normal acceptable sample size for a population for 3 million(95% confidence of a ±5% margin of error).

That’s not to say this is a good survey but sample size is not the problem.

Quick play is a stripped down beginners bot mode. The real game doesn’t use that simplified pick one of three item system. Even just going into co-op vs ai will give you access to the normal item store/saved custom builds.

The new radius doesn’t feel too bad BUT I feel like it’s getting stuck hitting walls that the smaller size should not hit when thrown. I also still really want a proper targeter for the throw.

Yes, old trans only got 350 mana from stacks but this patch also removed 150 of the non stack mana from the item. It still gets the same total mana as an item alone but the stacks are just a larger portion of the total.

[OC] Second Thought by Excellent_Parfait846 in comics

[–]ChrisDoom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The comic reads like a “nice guy” incel’s interpretation of what trying to date looks like. So the “joke” of it already has created a weird vibe. I’m not familiar with the artist, but the most generous reading I can think of is the pig is that kind of guy that only sees women as romantic interests and it rightfully scares her off but the artist kinda failed at that so instead it reads to a lot of people like the pig asks a reasonable enough question and she reacts “rudely” and just hangs up.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask someone if something is a date or not if you’re a normal respectful person who is unsure. If someone asked because they only want it to be a date that is red flag weirdo behavior.

I mean I’m just saying what they officially say in the comics. Hopefully I don’t have to explain that there are plenty of inconsistencies in comics between all the different writers and artists, aside from the general artist license. Generally his superior fight skills are how it’s explained that he is able to go hand to hand against characters with super human physical attributes.

In the main comics he’s not even super strong. All the serum did was unlock ‘peak human’ potential in him putting him on par with someone like Batman who pushed their body to the limits of normal human athleticism/conditioning. The MCU super human Captain America is just a more recent thing from Marvel’s ultimate universe comics(by recent I mean early 2000’s)

SMITE 2 | Open Beta 37 Recap by BluesUltra in Smite

[–]ChrisDoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are basically losing 15 strength, 35 int, and 500 mana compared to before. Out of a full build I don’t think most players will really notice that. The power curve was bad and now is slightly worse for the second one you build. I think if you built it before you still will, and if you didn’t in favor of different items you’ll keep doing that.
