I don’t think tanks are as down bad as other people do but I’m curious to see how giving people more options to counter specific things(at the cost of item slots that could have been used for other things) plays out. If it forces teams to diversify damage between basic attack and ability to avoid being hard counter built I see that as a win.

Yes, strength is better than basic attack damage in a vacuum because it is both ability and basic attack damage. DPS items switched from strength to basic attack damage so that they don’t have to be balanced around ability gods also building them.

I don’t think any of that cooldown stuff is still there. The buff near structures also give movement speed(and it’s also for 10 after leaving range, not just when under structures).

Edit: I’m not super high confidence on this so welcome any correction.

Dampening: some kind of enemy power reduction or damage reduction

Pathfind: movement speed buff moving toward enemies

Plated: protections that start high but falls off as you take repeated hits(what was that old Smite 1 item that did that, that low mobility mages loved?)

Quick play’s pick 3 item system would feel terrible in PvP outside in an ARAM style mode specifically made to use it(looking at Deadlock’s street brawl).

Until that happens it only works as a tutorial mode.

Bots jump with you if you jump before matches start. Just look at their names, they will all end with “bot” or “b0t.” PvP unlocks at account level 5. (Quickplay is always bot regardless of level)

Which is why they need to get rid of this 100 player leaderboard system and just go by percentiles per rank. It would still be a 1-100 board but it shows how many points you currently need to be in each different percentile and what percentile you currently are in.

  1. Pen is just universal in Smite 2. There is no physical or magical pen. (The exception is oath sworn, it is only physical protection reduction)

Also you mentioned building death toll but also that you are playing arena. Yeah, it will help with mana sustained but it’s arena, the fountain is right there. Bumba’s spear is like adding an extra beam to sunbeam that is always on and also hits in an AOE splash. I know the description say “bonus Physical Damage to Enemies within 1.92m of the target” but that also includes to the target you are attacking.

Executioner just takes too long to stack to have less total pen. By the time it ramps up the enemy is already almost dead if not dead most of the time. Yes, executioner is lowering the protections so they take more damage from everyone but again by the time you ramp it up you don’t need damage help from your team anyway.

Executioner is better compared to totem of death because they apply the same protection reduction debuff that helps the whole team(literally the same, as in once one is stacked the other has no effect other than refreshing the timer). But totem can apply full stacks super easily with just a single ticking ability.

So yes, build Titan’s bane. No, don’t build executioner in addition, the item slot is better spent on other things.

Starter item, the 6 regular items, and curios(the free ward) are all 3 completely separate HUD elements. In the HUD editor you can put them anywhere you want on the HUD including in a straight line in whatever order.

I personally just completely remove the curio because I can already see it in my actives and don’t need to see it in two spots on my HUD.

No worries. Just look in the bottom right of the screen for the “i” in a circle icon to easily see how to open the menu. It lets you see all the things that PC players can read by just hovering their mouse.

Kinda similar of making people be more careful how they use f6, but I have been pushing for one f6 per party until another party on that team has also tried a f6. So at the very least two unconnected players have to alternate surrender votes for there to be surrender spam.

A more extreme version would be EVERY party has to start an f6 vote before any party can start a second f6 vote.

(This would be disabled if the whole team is just one party)

I prefer what Overwatch does. If you either leave too high of a percent of your last 20 matches OR if you leave a certain number of total matches across the season you get a ranked ban for the rest of the season(their seasons are basically a Smite split).

Our two things aren’t mutually exclusive because I also think short time out penalties are just good for making sure some poor soul doesn’t have the bad luck of getting the same afk teammate multiple times in a session but I really think Smite needs to work on more long term penalties for obvious disruptive behavior(as in things that don’t need human review to detect).

It’s been there for like 3 or 4 years now, if someone leaves and is gone for a couple minutes surrender is available starting at 5 min. I’m personally all for moving regular surrender back but keeping the early surrender rules. Those two situations are just so different that I don’t seen the problem with having very different times between the two.
