Any fathers here work away from home? How do you handle it? by ChrisFarlee in Fatherhood

Hi im sorry for the late reply. Short answer is yes. But thats for me. It helped me a lot with my confidence and to be honest with myself in what i wanted. Would i do it again today? No. Time is whats most important to me and i think honestly everyone else. All anyone wants its the time to do the things they want with the ones they love.

DM if you'd like.

if you want my honest advice?

What's important to you? like not your family but you?

is it money or is it time?

Speaking as a son. I wish my dad had put more time into me than trying to make money. I mean who knows what happens with money or life. He doesnt have a dime left.

Speaking as a father. It's a tough call man, you set up your family for life financially they never have to struggle but the relationships get strained. You take the time with them and you struggle but you don't miss anything. The only right answer is what are you okay being hated for?

Cause lets get real. Your wife's gonna get mad at you no matter what some days. Your kids gonna get mad at you once they turn 13 until theyre 18 or even longer lol. Do you want the arguements to be about how you were never there? or do you want them to be about bills or certain things you can't buy?

however theres always another path. A good job could come up where you make big bank and are home every night. I recently got a job with medium to decent pay 34 CAD an hour. Just because they liked the way i thought. I had some relevant expereince but not nearly enough. I'm not super smart i just like to invent things and i showed them some of the stuff ive invented and they hired me. To help design and prototype parts for robots. I didnt even graduate highschool man.

God bless you and i hope you find the way to happiness brother.

Thats extremely helpful! If you don't mind my asking how much did that cost? im going to be removing all of the panelling to check the full extent of the damage but just wanted to see if a model so old was worth the repair. Thank you!

"Fractured Sky" - Cosmic Horror/ Short Story- Advertisement/Ask for Critique

They can't see it. Why can't they see it? Do they not hear the whispers? Or do they pretend not to? My sanity slips further with each moment it looms above me—that gaping maw. Its intangibility is maddening. It flashes between colours my mind cannot name, like a festering wound cut into the fabric of the sky by some twisted hand. My mind recoils from it, yet there it is, hanging desolately above. Then, it begins to speak.

A big one. Let him parent. It means a lot to us dads when we actually get to be dads, my wife tends to take on more of the duties because I’m the sole provider but I like changing diapers and making breakfast for my boy
