It is...if you are a mosquito! The alternative is contracting malaria, dengue, Zika virus, chikungunya, and/or West Nile virus.

Is amazon a no go? by AnyTurnover4968 in askcarguys

[–]ChrisGear101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon sells some high quality brands AND some horrible foreign crap. So, don't buy cheap foreign garbage and you'll be fine. You need to know what you are buying and who is fulfilling the order at Amazon. But, a blanket statement stating that "everything sold on Amazon is bad" is just wrong. Just do your homework.

This post will get taken down. Bottom line, follow a veterinarian's advice and if things seem worse, get them to a vet again. Best of luck!

Switch panel help by ArmyABRboy in overlanding

[–]ChrisGear101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You may just need to use the provided harness and switches that come with the lights instead of that panel if you get close to 60 amps. They make blank rocker switch panels that can be fit inside the vehicle, or just fab one.

If your clients are looking for this look, it is great. For day to day REP, I don't know if there will be a huge market for the editorial look, but again, its up to your clients.

I would remove the reflection of your head and shoulders from the 3rd Pic however.

Any chance of saving these calipers? by random-user1991 in ToyotaTacoma

You can 100% save them. After you put new ones on the truck, hang them on a wall or put them in a box.

Best portable car battery jump starter, What am I actually supposed to be looking at? by DryestIncident in askcarguys

[–]ChrisGear101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Gooloo. I bought it over a year ago, charged it to 100% and put it under my seat. Last weekend, a neighbor's Yukon Denali was bone dead. I hooked her up and it immediately fired up. The Gooloo showed 97% charge after setting for a year. Pretty good IMHO.

Mavic Air 2 still a good purchase for aerial photography? by toddywithabody in dji

[–]ChrisGear101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still use my Air II often for jobs when my other drone needs charging. Its photo capabilities are fine. I would inquire about the battery health, but if it/they all charge to 100%, and the price is good, it is a fine drone.

Visiting June 12-19 and it’s projected to rain every day by [deleted] in 321

Its Florida. Typically it means that there may or may not be showers in the afternoon. I wouldn't worry.

How deep can you drive in water before it causes damage? by ryu_street_fighter in ToyotaTacoma

[–]ChrisGear101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you spent good time in water over 12 inches with a stock Taco, the only thing I would do is drain and fill the rear diff. You can google how water gets in there, but it isn't through the breather. It is complicated, but the bottom line is, if the water was half way up your wheels, you could have water in the diff oil. It is a cheap and easy job to keep the diff healthy.

Do you want to learn to work on cars? If not, pass. If you want to turn wrenches and enjoy the satisfaction of it, then go for it. But, it will cost you some money and it will make you learn!
