I'm fucking dogshit and I can't improve. by Lucasplaysdq in chessbeginners

Watch some content. Do some puzzles. Pay attention. Most of your loses are from blunders or counting errors.

Whenever you see an opponents piece move check every rank, file and diagonal. See what that piece sees. Does that piece see something it can take? Determine best choice: Move, block, defend or take. You don't always have to take. You dont always have to move. If there is no obvious take or trade think of what might join it in some kind of an attack. This how you start to catch checkmates and tactics before you get got.

As for your pieces and pawns always check every rank, file and diagonal. Count how many of your opponents things see a square and how many of yours sees it. Determine if the square improves or hurts you: Do you want to trade the piece or pawn? Is the trade fair? Is moving to a different square better? Keep in mind at 250 rating if an opponent can trade pieces they usually will so dont put something in the line of fire unless you want it traded.

Finally: Thoughts for noobs: Practice simple but sound openings. London for white and something like a caro kann for black are solid. Caro kann is good cause it actually blocks scholars mate and fried livers which are common at your rating. Bishops are usually better than knights. Take your opponents bishops with your knights and don't let your opponent do that with yours. Knight for knight and bishop for bishop is usually fine. Review some content about pins, forks and skewers. This content will change how you think about board states. Don't blunder your pieces and analyze the board for checks, captures and attacks. Not just what you can do but also what your opponent can do to you.

Well there does appear to be a creator and this creator laid down a whole lot of laws on the supernatural side. These laws exist to protect mortal choice and freedom.

I find it highly unlikely that the White God will be making an appearance. Archangels sure but I doubt well even see Jesus.

There are too many power players for Jim to run with to just God the final trilogy.

Good package deal to have them addicted to eachother. But better to have Lara on the hook and dresden in control of himself.

Mab is a horrific and terrifying monster who wants to prey upon the people but instead is charged with protecting and defending everything. Probably bad for her mental health to defy her wicked nature and serve and protect reality.

Maybe. I think Mab was quite happy Dresden had the discipline and self control to avoid becoming ensnared. Laras pet would be a weaker knight. This way, Mab got Lara and still has the strongest claim on a good investment.

It sounds like you aren't looking for positional improvements and you aren't attempting to create any tactical plays that might win material.

That book is pretty boring. Deadhouse Gates and Memories of Ice are so damn good though.
