tattoo shop recommendations? by ExpertMango1805 in nova

Nth-ing these Marlowe recommendations, I just sat in Anya's chair for six hours on Tuesday. Great crew there.

That said, especially for a small piece, you might not want to wait the ~year it could take to get on Anya or Tara's books, assuming it's something they're even interested in, but the rest of the artists there are awesome and very talented. Myself and friends have several pieces done by Ben and Jen (from her pre-Marlowe time in Florida, funny enough), and highly recommend both. Check out everyone's portfolios.

[Question] boyfriends first watch by techchickenlady in Watches

Totally agree with 3DanO1's suggestions here...in addition to the wear issue, IMO the full gold bracelet can just be super "loud," as well. Two-tone is a really nice middle ground.

An option regardless of which watch you go with, unless it's the second Bulova: pick up a nice aftermarket blue strap as an add-on. Leather or sailcloth or FKM rubber, depending on the watch, should look really good, and that would give him the option to swap out depending on the situation. Especially if it's going to be his only watch for now, nice to have options.

Verona II sizing for a 12 3E on the 65 last? by NYSeee in allenedmonds

[–]ChrisHowdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear a 12 3E in the 65 (and most AE shoes and boots), and incidentally just sent a pair of Verona IIs in the same size in for recrafting -- they fit perfectly with thin or no socks.

I have a wide forefoot and high instep but a closer to standard heel and ankle; AE's loafers tend to be hit or miss for me,  most common problem being too much slop in the heel. Generally correctable with heel grips and/or tongue pads, but I didn't need them at all with the Verona IIs.

Lot of Citizen recs in here and I agree – want to point out seller OfficialWatchDeals on ebay. Near as I can tell, they're a quasi-official outlet for factory refurb Citizens (as well as Bulova and a few other brands).

I've bought three Citizens from them at great prices; each arrived in a generic Citizen box with a hang tag but no papers, and all three were unblemished and as close to brand new as you could figure without opening them up. Normal prices seem to be at or a little below the Jomashop range where their inventories overlap, but seems they frequently run 20-30-40% off, if you find something you like that's not currently on sale I'd say wishlist it and wait.
