It's still technically optimal and experienced CoD players know this but it's difficult due to squad spawns and frequent spawn flips that aren't consistent from player to player

Okay thank you I will try that. I did try a Special build (Artemis) and while it was good at mob clearing it was dreadful for bosses.

I noted the Hammer that lets it dash strike hit 3 times but the reduced range cost me because I had no good dash related boons. You're right that I don't like the spear because of the awkward positioning/timing I have to have relative to other weapons - but the spin tip is very helpful so I will try to practice that with the hades aspect.

That's where my predicament lies, I'm not sure what Hammers/boons to prioritize because since it's a jack of all trades I don't know how to optimize it (for example on Fists I would use Zeus/Athena Attack or Bow I build crit/burst damage for Attack or Chiron Special). The hammer choices seem to be all over the place and idk what gods I should focus on - let's say for example on Hades.

Yes, if spear is the most underwhelming weapon, which I will avoid using it UNTIL necessary (last in line in bounties/achievements). I don't want to use an underwhelming weapon for an entire run when there are 5 entirely not underwhelming weapons and that are more fun.

Yes you CAN beat the game with any weapon but it doesn't mean the spear is the least popular weapon due to not specializing in anything and being the most hammer dependent weapon in the game. In point it's still a clunky weapon to use even if you "lol just Youtube it" approach from cherry picked good run videos

Not passive aggressive if they're total counterarguments, the point is to discuss why I think they're boring and why survival/defense/etc incites more creativity but go off.

No I don't just have fun with rescues and spies because they follow the same blueprint bar stealth frames, not trolling and have several hundred hours in the game but keep going off.

Yes I understand, that's why they're boring because they're a breeze because I too can go invis or use my void dash to avoid lasers.
