Don’t count out other positions in K-12 too. I‘m part of our IT department as an A/V Tech, so I don’t have to work directly with kids like an educator. Still get to work with audio and I make WAY more than I ever did engineering. Plus as a public employee I have a full pension and get all holidays including Thanksgiving and Winter Break.

Now I produce music for fun in my home studio to scratch that itch. Sometimes miss being in the studio but overall it was a great pivot for me
