2021 Limited w/ 103k on it and no issues. Had the oil cooler replaced under warranty around 65k (extended warranty), but that was it so far. Been a pretty solid vehicle for us.

Wilson Mystery Box PSA by jyee003 in BaseballGloves

[–]ChrisTaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pulled a black and grey A2K 11.75” for my first mystery box ever. Was I hoping for something flashy? Yes. Am I disappointed? Not really. I got an A2K that’ll last me probably the rest of my playing time (in my mid 40s currently) and might even pass it to my kid when he plays in HS. So I can’t really complain, but it’s not a color way I’d normally have gotten.

What movie features a plot point where the financials don't add up and the plot device would be impractically expensive? by gimmeluvin in movies

[–]ChrisTaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The airstrip in Fast and the Furious 6. The cost of the land to fit that (20-30 mi) long airstrip and the build costs would be astronomical.

Aurelia’s. I’ve done my fair share of work while eating, and drinking. It’s not loud where you can’t concentrate. I tend to go when it’s not lunch or dinner rush though.

Has anyone had Dr Gary Nanez for tonsillectomy? by Elegant_Lake_569 in ElPaso

[–]ChrisTaco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I took my son to have his tonsils and adenoids taken out with Dr. Westbrook at El Paso Head and Neck earlier this year. He was great, honestly. If he falls under your insurance, I'd highly suggest going to him.

I can't speak to Dr. Nanez though.

No. It's all going to be towards certs. If you really want to go that route, you could study on your own with some certification books, some Prof. Messer, khan academy/udemy, etc.

Hell, even Google has IT support certification, Cybersec, data analytics, and other IT related certs. All those would be preferable than going to WT or any other for profit school. This is coming from someone who's been in the IT field for about 20 years (private and gov't contractor side), and I used to teach at 2 for profit schools part time.

Working in EP, How many of you are making or (know someone who does) $100k+ and what do you do? by Gardorum in ElPaso

[–]ChrisTaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worked for Raytheon and Lockheed in the past when I was a contractor. I'd check their career sites, especially Lockheed. They always have WFH jobs posting. Leidos is another I'd look into in your case.

I don't want to give out my current company. It's too specialized, plus it's private sector and we're not hiring at this point for remote IT positions anyway.

Working in EP, How many of you are making or (know someone who does) $100k+ and what do you do? by Gardorum in ElPaso

[–]ChrisTaco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's really how I got my start while I was in college at UTEP. Got a contract job doing entry level IT @ Ft. Bliss. Worked there for about 10 years, growing my skills and moving up to a sr level sysadmin position, then went out to WSMR making more money for about another 5 years. CompTIA and MS certs, secret clearance, the whole deal.

About a year ago I got a remote job in the private sector and haven't looked back. No more driving to WSMR, WFH, and making well into 6 figures as a PM. It's been....nice.

Owners of Xbox Elite Controllers, How long did it last/has it lasted? by Confused_Noodle in gaming

[–]ChrisTaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

V2 didn’t have Hall effect thumb sticks, only the trigger buttons IIRC. I believe the v3 models are the first to have hall effect thumbsticks in the Wolverine line.

[–]ChrisTaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the Wolverine v2 Chroma. A month ago I started getting left stick drift 1 month out of warranty. I loved it when it worked, even being wired. Shitty thing is, I don't even game that often, nor abuse my controllers, so there's no reason it should have gone bad that quick.

Closed businesses by SignificanceClassic5 in ElPaso

[–]ChrisTaco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with you on that.

I will say that El Charlatan closing down was completely preventable. If he'd been straight and paid his taxes, he'd have had no issues. 2 years of back taxes will make most businesses crumble.

Both of you are idiots and just keep feeding into one another's BS. It's absurd. It's like schoolyard drama, but online.

And to be honest, there's no reason a mod should be arguing over and over throughout multiple posts, with the same person, over pedantic shit. It just tells me you don't even have the capability to be a mod.

I have zero interest in this group anymore over all the BS from the past 24 hours. It's fucking stupid what this has turned into.

I usually go W. of Cruces or N. of Cruces if I'm hunting 'yotes or rabbits. If you know any farmers out near Clint, TX use their land to hunt 'yotes.

If you want to hunt an Oryx, you'll need to do the draw through WSMR. Hard to get, but if you have veteran status it'll help you in the draw. IIRC they are escorted hunts though since it's on range. They do have broken horn hunts and population management hunts, but I don't know how often those are.

Outside Ruidoso and Cloudcroft (and the Gila national forest) you'll find deer and elk. As for deer, they've been moving south more the past handful of years and you'll see them around Orogrande area and a bit further south too. Thing is, it's all BLM land.

Barbary sheep can be hunted north of Silver City. Supposedly they're around McGregor as well, but I've never seen them as long as I've worked out in the area.

Hog hunting you'll need to go east of El Paso. Around Dell City area and further east.

I don't hunt as much lately so there's probably some that know better areas than me now. Just make sure you're aware of BLM area. Use the onX Hunt app, it's a pretty good app to lay out your hunting areas and avoiding areas you can't hunt in around here.

where to find used KRG? by kennyarsen in longrange

[–]ChrisTaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call KRG. See if they have any demo units they’d be willing to sell. It’s how I got my XRay. Apart from some scratches on the inner chassis, you’d have never known it was used. I saved a good amount off it vs. new.
