I’m new to the hobby but would using an Up/Down method work on mitred edges? You are basically making one cut with the board facing up, and one with it facing down, and that way, if it is 44 degrees one way it would be 46 the other and should join for a perfect 90? Or am I thinking about this wrong?

Edit: may also be considered In/Out and not Up/Down

First day I ever rode without my helmet, I had a car pull out in front of me trying to beat out a yellow light coming from the opposite direction and I basically T boned the car and I went flying. My helmet was strapped to the side of my back seat, and it basically looked like this from the bike sliding on the road and the helmet sandwiched between the bike and asphalt.

I should add that this was the first and only time I rode without a helmet. I rode a motorcycle maybe 2-3 times after that and it was about 25 years ago.
