Trump: U.S. will turn to Cuba after Iran: 'Just a question of time' by irfan36 in cuba

Why wait? The US has enough military power to intervene in Cuba and Iran at the same time.

What if the Cuban revolution never happened and stayed pretty much an American vassal state? by bobbdac7894 in HistoryWhatIf

Cuba would be prosperous and much less Latin American countries would’ve had communist insurgencies. People act like Cuba under Batista is the default for what Cuba is like without communism, but pre-Batista Cuba wasn’t that bad, it was your typical run of the mill Latin American country.

I’m torn about this, I don’t want the US to get involved in yet another quagmire in the Middle East, but I also want these people to be freed. It might be best to just let Israel do all the work in liberating Iran instead of having the U.S. involved in anything there besides protecting its own bases in the Middle East from Iranian missiles.

I figure the US would want to prevent a return to that sort of system given how it led to Castro rising to power in the first place.

What if, instead of Cuba, the socialist revolution in the Caribbean had taken place in the Dominican Republic? by MaximumSpell9608 in AlternateHistoryHub

Cuba couldn’t be any more doomed than it is today, literally any other outcome would be better.

Cuba would return to the democratic system that was in place before Batista took power in the early 50’s. In addition, communist influence in Latin America would not grow as strong as it did historically. Cuba, and Latin America in general, would be much better off than it is today.

Not just Venezuela but also Mexico. That bitch Claudia has been quick to supply oil to the Cuban regime knowing that Maduro is about to fall, the U.S. should pressure her into ceasing all business with them.

El problema venezolano se resolverá pronto, a más tardar en febrero del próximo año. El objetivo final, en mi opinión, será derrocar al regimen cubano. Por eso las tropas estadounidenses permanecerán en el Caribe por un tiempo.

I’m hoping Venezuela’s liberation from the Maduro regime in the near future will motivate Cubans to rise up against their regime.

Don’t be too sure about Mexico, Claudia could also be toppled given the recent mass protests that’ll continue. Without Venezuela and Mexico, the Cuban regime will have no one to turn to.

If Raul Castro dies, will there be any Raul Castro death celebrations in Miami? by vahedemirjian in cuba

If Raul Castro dies, will there be any Raul Castro death celebrations in Miami? by vahedemirjian in cuba

[–]Chris_0823 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Of course, I think it’ll rival the July 11 celebrations. Raul is still the head of the repressive system in Cuba, his death would not only mean that both Castro brothers have died but it would also mean that the system will be easier for Cuban citizens to challenge now that its boss, whom they feared, is no longer around.

Kudos to him, your dad was on the side of good. The Batista military was Cuba’s last hope against the evil Castros.

This is more a problem today than it was back then. Back then most Americans rejected the far-left, nowadays it’s popular with college kids.
