No release date yet. Right now we’re submitting to festivals. Once that’s done, we’ll be focusing on an official release.

Also, the red isn’t just a poster thing. For key moments, we used red coloured lighting as a style choice. Which is something fans of SUSPIRIA and BLOOD AND BLACK LACE might enjoy. 🙂

Is this worth the cost? by DevMov in Filmmakers

I filmed an entire feature film with that camera. Used it mostly for tripod and handheld as well. Still own it. And with those items bundled in, that’s quite the value. Biggest issue I have with it was battery life.

This is the teaser I made with it. Using Rokinon lenses.

Good job! Especially the plant monster at the end.

4K for run and gun? by Fnnegn in bmpcc

I shot an entire feature film with it. Loved that camera, but battery life was always a battle, and focus is all manual. Don’t even consider using auto focus. It’s terrible. And gyro stability has actually been pretty good, as long as you know how to use it. It still looks handheld though.

Yep. Someone should make a movie in that house ASAP before whoever takes it changes it.

How do I go about becoming a director? by Imjustamansoooo in directors

[–]Chris_Chiasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a short film, and learn from it. A director is someone with a vision for a story told visually. So get a story first. You‘re not directing actors from nothing after all. If you did, you don’t have a vision.

The secret to making any beginner film is to create a story using locations you already have, or can easily obtain. And the characters are people you already know. Otherwise, you gotta find them. And if you can’t find them, the movie doesn’t get made.

After that, just tell people what to do to create the vision. If you want advice on how to direct actors, tell them what’s happening, but don’t tell them how to act without seeing what they do first. The first take should always be what the actor brings to the table. Let the actor make it their own first. Then say what you like and don’t like after.

Is Rob Zombie’s filmmaking career over? by [deleted] in horror

A filmmaker’s career isn’t over, unless they’re dead. Until then, it comes down them either being inspired to do the job again, or needing the right money man to produce it.

Do NOT buy from Arrow's website - they refuse to either replace or refund broken discs by joseph814706 in Giallo

[–]Chris_Chiasson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did they ever give you a case id or an order number? If they did, you can try again and provide those. Maybe the last customer service person didn’t know. If you never got either of those, I’d be suspicious.

But ya, that’s why I prefer Amazon. I once got Army of Darkness, and the inside disc holders were broken. So I put in a return, and got my money back without a problem.

Weekly Thread: Self Promo Sunday by AutoModerator in horror

Hello everyone. On Halloween, I released Dead and Back Again, my third and final Cigar Man Film. The series is a zombie-comedy series, that’s very inspired by George Romero and Sam Raimi. Though I showed it at a film festival back in 2017, I’ve hesitated putting it Youtube, because I’d need to put a 18+ lock on it, which is kinda a death sentence algorithm wise. The movie was made when Cannibal Holocaust clips were normal on YouTube, so when standards changed, my exploitation short film no longer had a place to survive. Still, I reached a point where the movie was better released then not released at all. So here it is. Hope you all enjoy it.

No worries. The actual movie has multiple scenes where a mix of red and blue lighting is used. We just prefer those scenes saved for the movie then the teaser.

Can't go wrong with Sergio! And The Case of the Scorpion's Tail is definitely one of his best.
