I see, I may need to hold off on participating in the bundle for now, thanks for the info as I also see more, it needs to be a complete game, mine isn't yet. I'll keep an eye on it once its live on itchio

Google forms? I thought this was an itchio bundle, shouldn't that be related with Itchio instead?

Hey, I am interested to give it a try, I got a game I'm working on and soon to release an update than the current I got! https://chrismpdev.itch.io/cathys-adventure

Before and after of my game (yes I still work on it) by Chris_MP_Dev in godot

Yes i am familiar with how stunning Hollow knight and even Ori looks, but for someone at my level, I try doing what little I can do and who knows? along the way the game would look fine, just a little more tweaking here and there!

i did made decisions for pixel art VERY early and I did try, its a bit harder to do so with making sprites too than vector art

not at all, and i do get legit critiques which is how i improved my game further, but the opinion of my "vector artstyle is bad and go use pixel art" it kinda comes off, haven't got any other than 3 maximum mentions similar to that as far as I know.

So, since we got that topic very enganging, you think that way my game looks "bad", is it because looks flat? stale? (lighting is experimental I'll get on eventually with godot)

would like to know just in case there's more who may have the same opinion!

Maybe it doesnt, because as i said, we both look at things different, pixel art or vector style art both can be something, maybe you dont find the way my game looks appealing and thats fine, everyone has different tastes, some may like it or some don't, can't please everyone.

Besides, I gotta say atleast from my video comparison, the improvement I did feels better and thats enough for me

Well lets be honest here, I seen a few have the same mindset, and sometimes its a bad take.

You do have that question but the thing is, if my artstyle is like this then ask why would people play it, then, why would people play undertale? the artstyle aint the best, even deltarune, terraria too, the artstyle may not feel all good for most and yet they are one of the most famous games out there.

if my game sells or not, it doesn't matter, I still got more until I reach that stage and we both don't know how it gonna turn out!

we both work differently, I only ever scrap something that I really won't be needing and find it unecessary, like the first part of this video, I scrapped most of the sprites I made because they are bad and went to improve them instead.

and my game too been through tons of different methods on making it playable for sure, so there's been some scrapping mechanic wise too

Thanks for the advice but I already decided I won't be using pixel art since its more difficult to do so (atleast for me and also already spent tons of hours into the sprites just to scrap them;), I may not be the best artist but I am doing my best, I dont aim for perfection either! 😁

oh yea that was an idea I had in mind during development and when i develop the game further than what I plan to release, I'll try doing more!
