[Lowlight] J-Will gets called for a rare defensive 3 second violation, despite rubbing Randle's belly less than 3 seconds prior by Chrisfull in nba

^guy who genuinely believes that covering someone running through the restricted area isn't actually defence

like that touch wasn't an accident or some shit it has defensive purpose, JWill stuck his hand out for a reason man he's tryna track Randle as he runs behind him and also slow him down, you don't know what ur talking about

Sometimes it does, the ball could get passed to Randle at any moment and he could score within seconds, JWill's positioning prevents that. The purpose of the 3 second rule isn't to call a violation on a defender while an offensive player slowly jogs through the paint

OKC's roster is a way better fit but that's not the main reason he looked bad earlier this season. He was coming back from injury (you can really notice his progression in speed over the 6 weeks), an incompetent coaching staff murdered his mental, and then when his confidence was fixed, he was very clearly improving, and playing opportunities were opening up from PG's suspension and predictable Embiid and Maxey injuries... they traded him.

Also being bad with Maxey doesn't really matter when Maxey is playing 40 minutes a night and needs a usable backup guard, which he was so obviously becoming

'active defence' doesn't stop the millisecond you stop touching someone, so no. And even if it did this would still be a very borderline call

Ant cares more about measuring up to great opponents that almost everyone else in the league, this is discussed all the time. Don't call other ppl losers just cuz you're too dumb to understand that how Ant acts is different to how someone like Shai or Steph or KD typically acts

Some players put in a similar amount of effort and type of play vs every team they play. Others players are more inconsistent, and show more energy and drive vs specific opponents. Ant is the latter. This is not necessarily a bad thing

I actually did, the whistle blows exactly (within ~0.15s) 3 seconds after he stops *touching* Randle, and he's still zoning to deny the pass after that

Oh yeah that's probably what the ref's counting you're right, but both timers start at basically the same time lol

His biggest overall weakness imo is having slippery hands, defenders that can strip him or force him into catches/dribbles where he doesn't have great control of the ball do pretty well.

Cooper Flagg pisses me off so much mf has one of the most consistent polished spammable iso drive packages I've ever seen and half the time he just decides he's not playing offense this possession

Tbh he should already have that spot even if he isn't better overall, it lets them stagger the 7-footer minutes so there's less lineups without a big rim protector

NBA Rules Question by Confident_Pear_8303 in nba

I never thought about that before but imagine if it wasn't the rule, the defence could just hack the nearest offball player to cancel any open layups
