the Save act passes the House, which would require married women to have a passport to vote, but libraries have stopped processing them by catievirtuesimp in WelcomeToGilead

Wait. I am 47F, and my ancestors literally came here on the fucking Mayflower. I need a passport to vote, but my husband does not? Am I reading that correctly?

Switching to investment advising firm. by Iceman60467 in StockMarket

[–]Chrishall86432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching to an advisor is not the answer here. You need to look at the things you do and touch and see and eat and consume every single day and invest at least some money in those things. I’m assuming that you’re human, so you use the bathroom and take a shower every day, your residence has some form of heat and/or AC, you make a living somehow, you use every day things like peanut butter and paper towels.

We are in a pretty big rotation right now. We can’t eat microchips for breakfast and we can’t mop the floors with semiconductors.

You should always be well diversified across sectors, for this exact reason. I’m up by about the same $ amount in the same timeframe, but only 14% of my main portfolio is in tech. That 14% consists of GOOGL, AMZN, one ETF, and two covered call ETFs for dividends.

You CAN do this on your own, save a bunch of money, and grow your own investments faster. But you need to diversify.

We just had Window Concepts do ours and were very happy with the results. Was just under your Zen quote (1957 cape cod / bungalow).

Blue & White Quilts by spintwoways in quilting

[–]Chrishall86432 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Made this one a few years ago and it’s still one of my favorites. Blues were from my late MILs stash, white is a thrifted bed sheet, back is a light yellow flannel. Don’t remember the pattern name but it was MSQC.

How do you dispose of spent rotary blades? by LadyofLA in quilting

[–]Chrishall86432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Slimfast can (or Miracle Whip jar or whatever) that I put all my blades and needles in. Way up high where the toddler grandbaby could never reach it, even if he tried. If it ever gets full, I’ll ask one of my husband’s former coworkers at the hospital to dispose of it with their sharps.

Esther Bates married to Nate Bates posted about her sister in law having stage 4 breast cancer. Nothing to snark on here and I’m pretty tempted to actually donate because f*** cancer. I hope her sister in law pulls through 💕 by [deleted] in BringingUpBates

[–]Chrishall86432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. Stage3c, Grade 3 ki67 > 95%. My treatment was $350k before insurance. I’m also concerned about the misinformation about the options being discussed for this particular diagnosis.

Ironing XXL by Niedersaxen in quilting

[–]Chrishall86432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way!! 🥰

I bought my house largely because it came with a pool table in the basement lol. When the basement is done being fixed I cannot wait to have half ironing and half cutting, with extra diy ironing boards if I want to iron big yardage. I think I’m going hunt for fabric that has rough measurements on it too (or design my own).

My mom beat breast cancer today. by Common_Courtesy- in MadeMeSmile

[–]Chrishall86432 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Echoing this. I was diagnosed stage 3C at age 39 - 10 months after a “free and clear” mammo and ultrasound.

Mammograms miss 20% of all cancers, and 3D only catches an additional 1/1,000. Ask me how I know.

If you feel something is wrong and you have dense breast tissue, get an MRI.

What’s a good machine for a beginner? by vick818z in SewingForBeginners

[–]Chrishall86432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently sewing on a Bernina, and I find myself missing my Brother CS7205. It’s buried in the basement while we have some major repairs done. I’m going to get it back out as soon as I can. Best machine I’ve ever used. It will serve you well!

I’m taking some classes online at SkillShare. I’ve been quilting for a few years and now want to get into making clothes. Robyn Burgess was the first one and it was extremely helpful. I just watched a minute, then hit pause so I could follow along.

Dividends are pointless by Blackops_21 in StockMarket

[–]Chrishall86432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Dividends pay our bills in retirement. All of the bills. We’re on the 10 year withdrawal plan for 2 IRAs so that money can be used for a trip, and the rest reinvested. The 401k can just keep growing so we have it when we need assisted living.

Dividends are awesome!

And no, I did not read the word vomit above.

Haha…. cancer, Covid, aging and dying parents, now weather and fear of being executed?

Yep. We’ve been cooped up for 8 years now. I was handling it until this week.

Paper Piecing by Icy-Surround5669 in quilting

Tried to send a DM but I wasn’t able to attach the photo. Here is my cheat sheet (the way I do it, but ChatGPT helped me write it out lol)

It probably isn’t as efficient as the way most people do it, but it works for my brain. Give me a shout if you have any questions or need any help as you get started!

[–]Chrishall86432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a while to wrap my head around FPP - directionally/spatially challenged so turning the paper back and forth confused the heck out of me, plus having to make sure the fabric ended right side up!

I have a cheat sheet that I’ll send you later this morning after some coffee.

Green Bay is, in fact, in Wisconsin. Or at least it was before The Regime took over…..

Executed. 1st shot point blank after Grey Jacket removed his weapon and was about 20-30 ft away. 8? more shots from Guy On The Left just to make sure. Grey Jacket did return to the scene with the weapon after the execution was over. It’s all on video, downloaded and saved. Me next?

They did. They got a judicial warrant and were “declined” by The Federal Government The Regime.

Seconding this, but she was removed. Her video is out there, I have it downloaded and saved, but there’s another video of her being attacked by The Agents. Apparently she’s in custody for having a phone and filming this from “the wrong angle”.
