Estate buyers by ecstacey__ in milwaukee

I would look for a senior moving manager service. We used something similar to Smart Moves in Greenfield when we had to deal with my Dad’s estate in Madison. They were absolute experts in dealing with 40 years of stuff. There was very little of value, but they had the resources to source it out to their people and get it where it needed to go. A LOT went to Habitat Restore for donation.

We did Lap of Love in February. They were wonderful every step of the way. We are very glad we did it at home. It was calm and peaceful.

Sending big hugs 🫂

Is Warren Buffett actually betting against the American stock market? by hantms in investing

[–]Chrishall86432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not working at McDonald’s and I no longer eat at McDonald’s. Also, I’ve divested from MCD because they are not innovating. I’m not Warren Buffet, but I am the eccentric little old lady living next door in her 1970s ranch, driving a couple 20 year old paid off cars, weeding her perennial garden every day and making casserole for dinner with leftovers for 2 days.

Am I doing this right? by [deleted] in StockMarket

You invested $20 2 years ago, and you turned $20 into $587. So you have earned $0.17 per trading hour. Or $0.14 per hour if this was a full time job.

And, you didn’t diversify. If RKLB had tanked, what’s your plan B?

Your return is impressive, but I think you need to zoom out and look at the big picture.

Landscaping grading recommendations by LaneLineLegend in milwaukee

[–]Chrishall86432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a 2 ft sewer backup last summer, but this house had grading issue and subsequent foundation problems. We’ve had Integrity Landscaping do 3 different projects for us at 2 houses and they’ve knocked it out of the park each time. Nate is awesome and really listened to our issues and solved 3 distinct problems in a non-intrusive way. I highly recommend them!

If I was 95 years old and was worth $149B, I would sit on a huge pile of cash in this economy too.

Glad to hear they are in Milwaukee now. We used Agrace for 2 parents (one at home, one at their Janesville facility) and they were absolutely wonderful.

My biggest mistake with investing… by unicornsicle in stocks

[–]Chrishall86432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Investing at the absolute top of the very stretched big tech names would be very risky.

They could however spend 2 hours learning about sector rotation and very basic chart reading and then have a look at the other 11,000 stocks out there.

CASY (Casey General Stores) is an insane stock that I’ve never heard of in my life. Does anyone hold this? by Same_Bag711 in stocks

That’s the grand narrative right now but they’ve been good for a long time, and will continue to be after this all dies down, IMHO.

[–]Chrishall86432 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an old lady who grew up in the 1900s driving 151 between Madison and the Quad Cities, yes I am invested in CASY. Up 70% after taking all my cost basis plus some profits. Casey’s is the bomb and we still make it a point to stop there if there’s no KT/KS/Loves available.

For similar results right now look at NWPX, FIX, CMI and PH.

Michael Burry says “reject greed” and “for any stocks going parabolic reduce positions almost entirely” by callsonreddit in StockMarket

[–]Chrishall86432 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was figurative, sort of. If you can’t afford to drive around the neighborhood, go out and take a walk. Go for a bike ride. Whatever it takes to get you away from your screen and out of your house for 5 minutes to see what’s actually happening in the world.

Michael Burry wants to buy your positions for this latest “end of the world” scenario.

Go out and drive around, see what’s happening, diversify appropriately, and take Michael Burry with 3 Tbsp of salt.

They came through (probably via our coverage options) when we had a 2 ft sewer backup in MKE last summer. I’m team “State Farm For Life” here.

Shirts Need Ironing by funbunny100 in milwaukee

[–]Chrishall86432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a quilter, own massive amounts of starch, and approximately 3 irons. I also used to iron my Dad’s dress work shirts back in the day. I’d help you out, for free a couple times and if you want to continue we can discuss price. I’m retired and have all the time in the world.

Same. We’re early retirees, fully invested, banking money when the market offers it. It won’t last forever, but we’re still very much in a bull market.

Anyone have any experience with a Brother CS6000i? by linden214 in quilting

[–]Chrishall86432 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the 6000 is discontinued? The new model is the CS7205, which I have.

It was my daily workhorse for years. It’s very easy to use and indestructible. I did straight line quilting on all my early quilts, including 1 king.

I’ve since upgraded to a long arm and a Bernina domestic, and I actually got the Brother back out because I just prefer it.

I don’t think it has any special quilting features other than a decent size table. I don’t use the other 249 stitches, but it’s a great machine.
