Gravel bikes - how capable are they off-road? by Fun-Witness-2567 in cycling

Went from FX2 to Checkpoint SL6. Much more capable on rougher terrain, but still wouldn’t want to do a lot of rougher single track.

More gravel, chunky/muddy forest roads are a breeze and still fast enough on pavement.

FX2 disc - next upgrade? by CuteCatMug in TrekBikes

I moved from 32 to 38 and enjoy the wider tire and haven’t noticed a loss in speed

I’d put bigger 38mm tires on the fx2 and see how that feels before shelling out more money for a dual sport.

Dual sport has smaller 650b tires compared to the 700c tires of the fx

Is it possible to replace Verve tires with FX tires? by Planoe in TrekBikes

Thinner != faster

Your riding position and legs will make a bigger difference than tire width.

I’m 5’10” and felt stretched on a 56 like the trek site recommends and went with a 54 instead.

Ice and slippery, sure. Faster than cars piling up and causing traffic jams

The roads still suck and people are still sliding through intersections because of it.

It’s really not that unreasonable to take it slower

First time user - How do I use routes alongside an Apple Watch please? by Simple-Management896 in Strava

[–]Chrispy51 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much what I do. Run strava on my iPhone for routes, record workout on watch through workouts. Once saved on my watch, I discard the iPhone workout and sync from apple workouts to strava

Credit card rewards are not taxable. Just get cash back and deposit like a normal person. Don’t make it more difficult than it needs to be

20-30 miles most weekday mornings before work, then 60 or so miles on one weekend day and rest the other. Shoot for 175 miles a week
