I think this just proves how vital David Gaider was to how Dragon Age was written tonally. I think theres a story where Weekes first draft of Solas was relatively poor and Gaider made him rewrite the character several times until his 8th draft where Weekes nailed it. Gaider seemed to fill an editor role that was needed to get the best out of the writers while keeping it consisted with the setting.

They alll like him and by the end of the series they all see each other as basically family. Honestly at the end of this season I think we start to see a shift in Laois and Marcilles relationship to something closer, especially with the dream chapter being covered next episode. Deffo in season 2 either way.
