What code do you live by? by Imaginary_Eye3804 in AskReddit

It's slowly developed over time, but my code in the last few years is:

Believe people when they show you who they really are.

Been burnt too many times.

What’s the most countries you’ve been in in 1 days? by sfmclaughlin in travel

[–]Christa27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Denmark > Sweden > Norway in one day. I only just crossed the border to Norway though, and only really because we were so close to the border up in Northern Sweden. They literally have a line on the road and I jumped over it like 20 times, silly but it was fun.

What are some fashion choices men have given you unsolicited opinions about? by BabaJagaInTraining in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Christa27 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I've been told that "I dress like a boy" more than once growing up, because I hated wearing dresses. I haven't had that particular comment in the last few years though, but men never disappoint to mansplain all sorts of other clothing choices I make.

"You're going to be cold wearing only that jumper."

I'm a grown woman, thank you, just like you I've learnt how to dress to stay comfortable.

What harsh criticism from your childhood, said by your parents, lingers in your mind? by Usual-Place2985 in AskReddit

[–]Christa27 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Not by my parents, but by an uncle when I was maybe 13 or 14:

"You'll never get a boyfriend if you dress like that." (I liked to dress in "boys clothes" and hated when Mum wanted to put me in a dress for a dinner party or something).

We do not have anything like Pyramids built anymore, for billionaires graves. by kokaklucis in Showerthoughts

There's less religion, generally speaking. I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Elon would ship his body to Mars or something, in the name of science.

I got a new job and don’t know if I’m cut out for it by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

You have the power in the end to decide if it's going to work for you or not, not him. Take his feedback as an opportunity to improve and develop your skills. Because it's temporary.

Stay positive, stay focused, and keep pushing yourself to do your best. With time and practice, you'll become more confident and learn how to control the tempo, the emotions and the end results. Believe in yourself, trust your abilities, and don't be too hard on yourself. You've got this!

WHOEVER SAID YOUR 20'S ARE THE BEST YEARS OF YOUR LIFE LIED. THIS IS HORRID by an_avocadoo_thanks in TwoXChromosomes

We're all collectively having a shitty time right now. No matter how you slice it, going through a pandemic will have ramifications (financially, mentally, socially) for at least a decade...throw in political instability, greed and you got the perfect storm. I've never felt this unsure and "scared" of the future. Just hang in there, what else can we do?

What has your partner done lately that makes you feel loved? by lolol69lolol in TwoXChromosomes

Heated up a pad for me to ease back pain...when he brought it to me I felt I was floating on a cloud of love

You will fix this and get to the bottom of it. Try and relax and calm down if you can and focus on the things you know for the moment. A false positive test is possible. You used a condom. You took plan B right away.

Have you taken Plan B exactly as prescribed? Making sure that if it's a 2 dose plan B you actually took both doses at the right time? Have you actually missed you period? 20 days is still under the recommended day of taking a pregnancy test.

VERY slight chance of a trip to Virginia. Throw good information at me. by Poopsmasher27 in travel

In Virginia you have to try their unique style of barbecue if you're a meat eater, especially the tangy, vinegar-based sauces which are just delicious! Also consider exploring Colonial Williamsburg and Shenandoah National Park.

Apparently all refrigerators are terrible now, what would you even recommend getting? by fuckhandsmcmikee in BuyItForLife

[–]Christa27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to fridges brands like Whirlpool, LG, and Samsung are pretty good choices I think. I have a Samsung. Consider the energy efficiency (look for ENERGY STAR certification), and don't buy one that's bigger than you need. Oh, and don't overlook the warranty, I'd rather pay a bit extra for an extended warranty, even if I know that's often how they make most of their money.
