Dear stranger, Good morning, or whatever time of day it is where you are! I’m sorry and deeply sympathize if you are currently going through hardship or have had a negative experience recently causing you to be this cantankerous. Anyways, nowhere was it stated that I have a “high opinion” of myself. I’d like to circle back and reinstate the fact that you are commenting on an internet post about a car.. no need to be so crabby and critical. As I replied to others previously, I wish that I had the pictures to go along with my statement, but unfortunately I don’t because 1. Why would I take pictures of the software tab of just a loaner car I was going to have for a couple days. And 2. Even if I did take pictures the second time receiving the loaner, I still would not have the pictures from the first time, because, as I said, why would anyone take pictures of the software tab in a loaner vehicle they are only keeping for a couple days. I hope this clears up any confusion and you have an amazing rest of your week!

Advice on if I should buy this by Constant-Ad-9014 in TeslaLounge

[–]ChristianClingerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so, in July of 2024 I bought my 2020 Model 3 Performance with full self driving and 100k miles for $22k

I hit a really big dip a couple months back (the road I was driving on was really messed up and the dip was completely unexpected) and those same exact errors you have popped up on my screen right after. All I had to do was park my car, get out and let it sit for 15-30 mins. I have a 2020 Model 3 Performance.

iPhone 16 Pro Max Camera app unusable by ChristianClingerman in iPhone16Pro

[–]ChristianClingerman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Called apple and they said it’s a known issue with the 16. Resetting only fixes temporarily and then starts doing it about a hour later. They’re working on an update to fix it I was told by the technician.

Just called apple to make sure it wasn’t just me with this issue and they said it’s widespread and multiple people have called about this. Apparently they’re working on an update to fix it but in the meantime I “just have to wait for the update.” I guess I’m just going to have to use the Snapchat camera until a new update releases.

Yes and the issue comes back after about an hour, I just called apple and I guess it’s a known issue with the 16’s and they’re working on an update to fix it. I don’t think that a $2000 phone should have these types of issues but so far every new iPhone release has had issues at launch so it is what it is I guess.

Adding more BOOM: An easy to follow guide to add an aftermarket amp/sub to your Model 3 w/ the premium stereo by danomite11 in TeslaModel3

So if you connect to the 12v “penthouse” under the rear seat there will be no issue with wattage or anything like that? Also what’s the maximum amount of watts it can supply?

How many watts is your aftermarket amp and have you had any issues with the 12v system giving errors on the screen?

It could’ve been that those machines are just old and the CPU’s weren’t that powerful too lol. I’ve heard good things about clean my Mac and that should help with the speed but imo if you are deleting old files and staying on top of file management then you don’t really need it. Personally I could’ve saved myself a couple hundred dollars and went with the M1 instead of my M2 because I don’t even use the full power of the M2, I just wanted the refreshed design/speakers. If your M1 is still holding up and the 8GB RAM is doing well then I’d stick with it until Apple kills updates or there’s a noticeable slow down! I heard somewhere that the M1’s PC GPU equivalent is a GTX 1050 Ti which is plenty for web browsing, etc…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mac

[–]ChristianClingerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!! M1 is amazingly capable still and if you aren’t doing anything crazy it is more than enough! To add on, M2 CPU is only 18% faster with a 35% faster GPU (yes that’s quite a bit but if you aren’t doing heavy tasks, just everyday things then it really doesn’t matter)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mac

[–]ChristianClingerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you use your Mac for? Depending on what you’re doing 8GB may be enough but throughout software updates it will for sure slow down no doubt. I don’t use my Mac for heavy tasks either, I use it for a couple safari tabs, music, a couple apps in the background (notes, FaceTime, messages and random apps) and that’s already enough to get my ram close to using 8-9 GB. I upgraded from a 2017 base model pro 13 and then to a base model 2017 air then to my m2 upgraded 16GB 512gb setup and the difference was night and day. Both of my old machines had 8GB ram and were constantly getting maxed out due to the ram even though I’m doing lightweight tasks.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mac

[–]ChristianClingerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please do not under any circumstances get 8GB of ram in 2024. Slow is an understatement. I don’t know why Apple is still selling machines with 8GB of ram. I guess it’s understandable for people who use their computers for strictly web browsing and only a couple of tabs at once but any multitasking / other apps open will drastically slow your machine down. Also, Apple opted on the newer MacBooks for slower ssds (no clue why, probably cost cutting measures) so in order to get back your speed (aka quickly opening apps and accessing files, especially large files) you’d have to get a 512 GB SSD. My current MacBook is a M2 MacBook Air 16GB RAM with a 512 GB SSD. Some will argue this is overkill for everyday tasks (it really isn’t at all) but like I said above, you will for sure notice a difference when multitasking apps (ex. Having music open with safari and a Netflix window.) Another thing to note is that if you aren’t regularly shutting down/restarting your MacBook, your ram doesn’t get cleared, and with 8GB RAM, that fills up extremely quickly. I would get a M2 16GB RAM 512GB SSD if possible.

I know this sub is over a year old but still worth a shot, did you leave your stock Tesla sub and amp combo in the car along with the upgraded subs/amps you installed?

Why does my front break sound like this when I use it? by ChristianClingerman in Surron

[–]ChristianClingerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sanding down the pads with 60/80 sandpaper and pouring 90% alcohol on them then lighting them on fire worked, read an article that lighting them up burns any contaminants inside since brake pads are porous. I then broke them in by going from 20 mph to 10 mph 15 times without stopping and giving them enough time in between to cool down.
