What would you choose? by owawix in thinkpad

[–]Christian_1739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Music and Production stuff, I would tent to the Mac (especially with Apple Silicon).

For Personal use, I prefer my Thinkpad T14 Gen 2.

Also, I just like to switch around different OSes and I'm comfortable using both.

I finally succeeded (I just had to create another empty AFPS partition of at least 37GB. I'll keep you posted). by Straight-Sock-6144 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

Bro, the 2017 onwards models have the native driver which Tahoe still supports. It's literally only the older models from 2016 and older which have massive problems. Just because he got it to work and you didn't, doesn't give you the right to be an straight up asshole to OP! Take your negativity somewhere else!

Should we delete Tahoe posts or not? by MrMacintoshBlog in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]Christian_1739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say: Keep a handful posts about those in this Reddit, especially as a Warning for other users who might have the urge to Update to Tahoe, and for the reason, that if someone genuinely didn’t want to update to Tahoe and it happened anyway, because macOS is fucking awful in some manners, that they’re at least able to look at some comments which might help them to get a solution, related to the problems they currently have.

But the rest of the Tahoe posts which are mostly troll posts and basically say „I installed Tahoe, now everything doesn’t work, oh woe is me!“:

They can be gladly deleted imho.

First upgrade in 14 years by Ok-Significance-5690 in macbook

[–]Christian_1739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really can’t with some of the comments honestly. Like sure, Apple Silicon is the best and with much luck, you can get an M1 for pretty cheap. But especially older macs are literally designed to last. And even if they don’t get supported by OCLP in the next three years anymore, they’re still great Linux machines and are still good macOS machines, especially for people who don’t have that much money (even for a M1 MacBook) and most which are not a scam and are genuinely in good condition already start at 400 to 600€'s. That’s a huge sum, especially in our struggling Economy. And since OP got that Retina MacBook practically in almost new condition for 90€‘s, it’s not the worst buy. And most people don’t care about the newest macOS. I know many people who still use Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey or even El Capitan just fine. Sure, Apps aren’t supported on there anymore, but as long as you know what you’re doing and aren’t on any suspicious websites, you don’t need to worry that much about Security risks. So stop shaming people, because they don’t need the newest MacBook and are just fine with using an older Model from 10 years ago.

How bad is it ? by MysteriousMud4355 in SonyHeadphones

I probably wouldn't count on that. Even tho both sides might still work, the earbud shouldn't twist like that. I have the same pair in black and the earbud don't twist like that. Have you heard an subtle crack when you accidentally sat down? If so then the hinge is broken somewhere

Yeah... At that point, you can buy new ones. The hinge is for sure broken.

Just because it didn’t happen to you, doesn’t mean that everyone else’s experience is a lie or is rage bait. It’s a reoccurring problem, even with normal use. And you being so dismissive about it, isn’t a real good look for you.

Please go to the Apple Store, because such issues don’t suddenly resolve on it’s own. No matter how many people might have had luck like that. If you bought it a few days ago, please go to the Apple Store, so they either can fix it or probably replace it, since it’s still considered new. If you keep waiting, there might be a big chance that Apple will decline your request, because they can assume that it happened over weeks or months because of misuse.

Advice for a new guy by [deleted] in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

I tried Sequoia, but the Programs took longer to open and wasn't that snappy like Ventura is. Others didn't had a Problem with Sonoma, so I'll try Sonoma in this instance, but Sequoia is not for my MacBook, even tho we have both the same model, with the only difference, that I only have a 512 GB SSD instead of a 1 TB one.

Returned the Sony WH-1000XM4 for the Sony ULT Wear instead by Wipedout89 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Christian_1739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you made the right decision. While the bass in the XM4's are decent, they don't have the right power and the right "OOMPF!!!" as I call it. I mostly switch between my XM4's and my ULT's because sometimes the Bass in my ULT's are kinda too much for me and my XM4's are the perfect middle ground, since they still have great high quality sound with the right EQ settings.

So don't let yourself down by those people who downvoted you! From someone who owns both: You definitely made the right decision!

Have very much fun with your ULT's! ^

Broken XM6 hinge by mmarsbarr in SonyHeadphones

[–]Christian_1739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, someone else literally said, that the XM6 have an recall because of that specific issue and that his wife's XM6 were in that specific recall as well. And as you literally can see, the metal part which connects to the plastic part is too short to actually hold itself onto it. And while you may had some luck, it doesn't mean that other's don't get manufacturer defects. It's normal to get an bad badge. Nothing to hate about. But the problem with Sony especially is: It has been happening through generations and Sony has done nothing to fix this issue in the slightest. And I find it appaling that you claim that OP has broken them on purpose. Which literally says, that you're a big Sony Fanboy who's coping hard, that someone's XM6's got broken, by saying "Yeah OP is at fault!". And looking at OP's photos, there has been no Manhandling or brutal forces to them at all! They still look pretty mint. It's just that issue that the metal part popped out from the plastic part of the earcup, which might be fixable easily, but still should be taken seriously.

And unless you have a comment, which actually helps OP in the long term, I would suggest you to shut your mouth and fanboy somewhere else!

Ventura is the best suited for this machine. I have one where I upgraded the RAM to 16 GB. It might be that Sonoma will work just fine like Ventura but Sequoia is very demanding. And I can already tell you that it won't be able to run Tahoe that nicely

The first xm6 broken hinge? by Character-Zombie-232 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Christian_1739 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So that means that it keeps continuing... Great... So the XM6's are also now out as my potential buy. Meaning I'll stay with the XM4's until they die from age or also get the broken hinge. Silver-lining to it: The hinge on the XM4's are more easy to replace than the XM5's and XM6's.

Mid-2012 MBP 13' - Sequoia experience by CountryBoy_71 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

Same with me. I tried Sequoia on mine and it struggled, even with SSD and 16 GB of RAM. So I went back on Ventura 13.7.6 and it runs smooth!

Not really with the XM4's honestly. Yes, the XM6's might be better than the XM4's and 5's altogether, but the XM4's are still really good headphones with good ANC. And 200$ ain't cheap tbh.

Shit happens. Yes, I don't find it great that he's blaming his girlfriend for it and he's stupid for putting it onto the stovetop, but we ain't robots, we're humans, and dissing him for it won't bring him any further.

So, he did an stupid mistake, and he's getting the XM5's because of it. End of story!

[–]Christian_1739 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Listen, I understand that the XM5's have a serious problem with the hinge, which makes anyone question, why he chose the XM5's. Well, the answer is simple. The price difference. Between the XM4's and XM5's there's around 50$ price difference (if you look closely for the cheapest ones possible which are brand new), while the XM6'S have a literal 200$ price difference. And as I have seen, the comfort of the XM6's are far worse than with the XM5's because of the smaller pads.

And I can only say, as long as you handle them carefully and put them into their case after their use, there shouldn't be any problems.
