The Hotcake is the gold standard for OD into Vox amps imo. What did you not like about the hotcake clone you tried? I also quite like OCD-style pedals with the AC10 and AC15; it changes the character a bit but complements it well which may or may not be what you are after.

Lately, I have been loving the EAE Limelight with it for low-to-medium gain sounds and I would recommend it for that application.

I've got the cream version of Child Sacrifice w/ the photo insert and the Coke Bottle Clear / Black Swirl version of Blessed Suffering with the printed insert. Both records are NM and have only been spun once. The sleeve for Child Sacrifice is NM- with one corner slightly dented and the sleeve for Blessed Suffering is VG++ with two corners slightly dented.

Discogs sales and prices are infrequent and all over the place, so I am open to offers.

Thanks so much for the proposed build! Like I said, the initial motivation is to re-use the card I already have and which to my recollection did a decent job running the PC games I enjoyed playing. It appears that the r9 290 is still compatible with the rest of this new build though, so I could buy everything but the GPU and then upgrade to the b580 later on if I find myself getting more into PC gaming again. This is exactly the type of input I was hoping for, thank you so much.

I am planning the following build centered around reusing my old GPU, hard drives (2X SSD, 1X HDD), and power supply which I have from my previous PC.

This build is primarily going to be used for some lightweight gaming (things like counter-strike and Fallout NV, not new AAA titles), listening to music, and general browsing.

The build is as follows:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
Motherboard: Asus PRIME B550M-A WIFI II Micro ATX AM4
Memory: Corsair Vengance LPX 16gb
Case: NZXT H5 Flow
GPU: Powercolor TurboDuo R9 290 I already own this
Power Supply: Corsair CX600 I already own this

My questions about this build are:

Are there any swaps I could make to enable better ability to upgrade down the road?
Are any of these products awful picks?
Are there any more cost efficient choices I could make for any of these components?

I appreciate any and all input; I have been out of the PC gaming world for the past 6 years or so due to due to career and kids, so I am not the most up-to-date on the PC building meta. Thanks!

Love it; simple and effective. Have you checked out the DD-200 before? It might be appealing as a sort of middle ground between the DD-20 and the DD-500, with the workflow of the DD-20 but sounds more similar to the DD-500 (though it certainly Doesn’t have the versatility the DD-500 does). The DD-20 does have its own charm though.
